Can you elaborate on which part/parts are "appalling"? The intro is one of the best they've done in years, Blade Runner into CSIT worked perfectly to get the crowd hyped. From a musical standpoint they are as tight as ever; Dave and Adrian's solos both on point, Steve and Nicko both still have it too so I can only assume its Bruce's vocals that are making you think they should retire? I mean the guy is almost 65 years old so while he cant hit the notes quite the way he did in his 20s and 30s he's still pretty damn good. Stage show was spectacular too, 3 mechanical Eddie's, huge inflatable Eddie as well as a backdrop that changed for each of the 15 songs. Retirement is imminent for Iron Maiden but for a group of guys with an average age of 67 they can still fairly run around a stage and entertain a crowd of 13,000. I'd recommend you take a look at Guns N' Roses recent Glastonbury show and tell me Axl shouldn't have retired about 20 years ago, and I'm saying that as a Guns N' Roses fan. Iron Maiden will never get a sniff at Glastonbury but have continued to come to Belfast and Dublin pretty frequently, with Steve playing shows back to back with British Lion just so he can play more intimate venues with fans. I expect Iron Maiden to retire in the next couple of years so why not just enjoy what little they have left in the tank and appreciate that they're one of the few bands from their era who aren't relying on prerecorded vocals and overdubbed guitar tracks to get them through their live shows. I'm confident they will retire before their shows are anything less than 100% live and as I said at the start, in my opinion, each and every member of the band are still performing at the top of their game live.

@@calumharkness3932 I agree, Axl is a parody (and not even a good one) of his former self. Whether fronting a fake G-n-R or AC/DC, he should have retired years ago (preferably before Chinese Democracy...) but, for me, as a fan of IM since Killers, having made the trip to the east end of London on more than one occassion, seen them MANY times in their hayday at Hammy Odeon etc., this was a travesty. Yes, mainly Bruce but, frankly, for me, them all in varying degrees. It was a "going through the motions" for me. You, clearly, don't agree and fair play. Johnny Cash ended his almost 50 year career with a voice as strong as ever, covering a great song and delivering one of the best performances of his life (in the studio, the video is too sad to see him "play" guitar etc.) IM are not going to get the same comment from me and I lament that. And, finally, thank you for proving my point - "gonna get grief"... PS - Metallica, 100,000 fans at Donnington, I mean Download..., not much younger and 72 Seasons better!
