    Nice piece of equipment; I bet it costs a small fortune! If I'm interpreting this correctly, the (approx.) 50 G reading between the poles of that lab magnet (at 01'10") means it is about 1000x as 'strong' as a fridge magnet: 1 T = 10,000 G so 50 G = 0.005 T = 5 mT Since a fridge magnet is about 5 micro-Tesla, the black magnet is equivalent to a about one thousand of them!

    It only generates EMF when the coil is moving so cutting the magnetic field lines, right? Thanks for the video BTW, it is helpful to see actual demo.

    • @FelixRamoslovethescience
      @FelixRamoslovethescience Год назад

      There must be a variation of magnetic flux passing through the coil, to induce emf. If you put the coil static in between the poles of the magnet, there is not induction of emf.

    Hi Mr. Ramos. My question is, Are we always going to divide by 4?

    • @FelixRamoslovethescience
      @FelixRamoslovethescience 10 лет назад

      Yes Yelena, because there is a pattern that repeat every 4 numbers.... that is the reason of the division by 4.... Remember the there is theorem that state that given i to the power of n, dividing n by 4, the remainder of the division will be the new exponent... and this remainder is going to be always 0, 1, 2 or 3. I to the zero is 1, i to the 1 is i, i to the second is -1 and i to the third power is -i.
