Not all models have WiFi so maybe your model doesn't have WiFi?

For iPhone users: you have to manually connect wifi to LG fridge! when app tells you to connect to fridge with Wifi, go to settings->wifi and select correct wifi for example LG_Smart_Fridge_1234. PASSWORD IS 4 LAST DIGITS OF THE WIFI NETWORK NAME! In this example it is 1234. connect to that wifi and use those 4 digits as a password.

You select your home Wifi network and your password. :)

For example if your wifi networks name is "HomeWiFi", you select that one enter your networks password.

If your dryer has Wifi function you can start it remotely by using "remote start" option. ThinQ app says that LG appliances use 2.4GHz wifi and 5GHz is not supported.

@@homeappliancenerd5408 Thank you. Since we hadn't gotten clarity on this point, we ended up finding and buying a GE washer and dryer, which seems like a better choice for other reasons as well -- build quality, features, clear communication about the wifi.

@@derekamarpreet We bought this and haven't used the app once. Doing laundry has largely become my job and I'm tall enough to reach all the controls.

If your dryer has WiFi then you can use it even your washing machine doesn't have WiFi :)
