The moment "I'm Still Here" was nominated for Best Picture, we can see EP is losing. The Oscar goes probably to The Brutalist or Anora.

Emilia perez is one of the worst films ever. The main character becomes good for no reason after a sex change, with a weak redemption arc, ending up like a saint but not taking accountability of her actions. A joke of what a narco is and full of cynicism. The spanish dialogs are inaccurate, inedible and im sure they did the script with google translate or an IA. They use sentences that no one would ever use in spanish. Is like you hire indian crew to portray The schindlers list and dont take the time to study Poland and Germany amd WWII. Completely ridiculous and disrespectful. By the way, the music is horrible and its a musical but the leading actresses can't sing.

I am amazed that so many people are upset about Emilia Perez. It reminds me of 2005 when Brokeback Mountain was the clear frontrunner and lost to one of the worst choices of all time: Crash. If Perez wins, would you rank it ahead of Crash as the worst best picture?

I think ASC didn't list Emilia Perez in its list because is a french movie with a french cinematoghapher... It's a bad movie either way... It shouldn't be at the oscars. I hope you watch it and make a video talking about it, because it is a true story of a US-funded dictatorship where many people were kidnapped, tortured and killed, an authoritarian regime that lasted 21 years under the pretext of fighting against a supposed communist threat that never existed. This film comes to rescue the memory of a people who forgot their own history, this film portrays the story of Eunice Paiva who lost her husband and who fought hard to get the recognition of his death by the State... It is very worth watching, especially for the monstrous performance of Fernanda Torres, she is an unbelievably sensational actress!!

Hypothetical question. If a musical were to be a huge success with audiences, critics and had a made a lot of money at the box office. AND THEN, the sequel gets announced and everyone who loved the first musical was told it was going to be a dark comic book film/musical those fans would be skeptical. Then the reviews from the opening weekend panned the film because it wasn’t a legitimate sequel to a musical, instead you sat down and were watching captain America the winter soldier, people would be furious and rightfully so. Why anger fans of the first film that was a huge success? It’s not fair that comic book fans are being gaslit into thinking that we’re unreasonable or spoiled. The joker isn’t a thing the director owns, it’s a comic book character, why couldn’t he just make a dark musical on his own time? He used the character to get paid and we the fans got a terrible film ☹️ worst comic book film ever!

Rotten tomatoes makes you prove that you’ve actually seen the movie. IMDb doesn’t require any proof of having seen the film. I hated joker 2, it’s disrespectful to comic book fans. We deserve a honest film adaptation instead we got a musical and it was terrible. The director wasn’t going to get a huge budget for a small indie musical. He used comic book characters to get paid and comic book fans get bamboozled. It’s super disrespectful. The music was cringe and gaga’s acting performance was bad. The director should’ve cast a legitimate actress instead of a musician turned actor. I hope the director never gets a comic book film ever again.
