All you need is capacitors and solder... and servos, needles.........
Hello I have a problem with my meter since I replaced the terminal the meter works correctly except the speed needle, the terminal is well connected I tested the PINs they all have current. Could this come from the needle motor I had touched the needle during reassembly and I had moved it then put it back in its original location. When I reassembled the meter the needle no longer moves or sometimes when I disconnect reconnect the needle moves slightly but does not advance when I move the vehicle does the needle motor frequently break down? Is it easy to replace it should we unsolder it resolder it?
@@abokiaminou3685 don't think it fails because you touched it. If you changed the terminal, I would double check that all the connections are correct. If the problem remains, most probably is the stepper. In the video is explained how to change it and in the links you will find the model of the stepper motors.
Is the engine not ready for retirement?
@@abokiaminou3685you can get a cluster lower miles than your miles then code it to your vehicle
My E46 cluster works just fine but will not communicate through the K Bus line for diagnostics, do you think changing capacitors could fix the issue?
@@nipunpatel5395 don't think so, because if your dashboard is working properly it means that the K bus communication works (as far as I know). Btw, for the e46s the OBD2 cable needs to be bridged between two pins (cannot remember which), did you check that? In mine worked fine after I did that simple modification.
@@juanjocerutti Thanks for the reply! Yes it's pins 7 & 8 which need to be bridged. I can communicate to all modules except for "KOMBI", it's strange because the cluster has no issues apart from this, but this I believe is causing intermittent connectivity to the ABS-DSC module.
Thanks for this Video. My E46 is also dead. Only the ABS Light is on. I will check the capacitors and look for burned PCB Tracks.
The ABS light on (only) is one of the signs of this issue. Do this procedure and the cluster will be fixed!
