This is always my favourite album as I love the Royal Navy as much as the Territorial Army and The RAF as all other members of my family have served or are currently still serving like my cousin is in the Royal Air Force

My dad was navy from 1963 till 81

My uncle was on her in the 1970’s before she sadly got scrapped

I was a Forward Observer for a Light Infantry company in Vietnam in 1968. I only heard Phantoms when we were in deep trouble and needed close air support. And yes I can still hear the airborne Saviours in my sleep occasionally.

Good video, I bought one on ebay here in Germany and they made sure everything worked! But no, I have already made progress in fixing some things, but I have the problem that the speed varies a lot, also like in your video you put play and it starts slowly, it picks up speed and then normal, but sometimes it varies. Note that with the machine lying down it improves!! and with the machine stopped it gets worse so that the winch pulley feels loose. I saw those Ninja pulleys but apart from the fact that the kit with belts and more costs almost 200 euros it takes too long to arrive! I wanted to ask if you were able to solve it with glue? And what do you clean the heads with? I used iso alcohol but it didn't work much. Some say with pure acetone? Thank you

I'm not sure whether it's RUclips's compression or the Wolverine's compression brutalizing the frames. The only way around RUclips's abuse is to upscale to 4k. It obviously won't add any more details to your scans but at 4k, RUclips uses a much more generous compression algorithm. On another note - I've discovered the Wolverine uses probably only 1/3 of its sensor to capture video. Does the Hawkeye mod improve this? Is more of the available sensor employed?

You british should have kept the RN Phantoms, had been useful in the Falklands. Very useful. A mystery you didn't. Can anybody with knowledge tell us why the HMS Ark Royal was withdrawn in nov -78?

Traded visits with a couple of RN sailors while in Portsmouth, England. They visited Independence and we visited Ark Royal. Great times, Then we went and got drunk.

Massive F-4 Phantoms on silly 'mini-carriers' the Brits were for sure reaching in the 70s, well didn't last long - I guess they got a few Rolls-Royce engines into the Phantom to justify it politically...but what a waste of money and effort... sheesh - Brits, go figure...
