Hi im protestant but i respect this art and icons i like to drawing too! Please draw the saint Christopher with horse head! I love orthodox ✝️🤝☦️❤
@@MobiDELTA Thank you for your kind words. I'm sorry but I will not paint St Christopher with a horse head or a dog head or any head other than his own human head at it is contrary to the teachings of the Fathers of the 7th Ecumenical council. The icon is the physical form of the person. St Christopher was called "dogface" because he had asked God to make him ugly so women wouldn't be attracted to him, not because he had an actual dogs head. And unlike in western art, in Byzantine iconography no one is depicted as ugly, not even the "baddies".

Hello, I have a question Wich most helpful type of paper do you use for practicing icons other wood?
Hot press watercolour paper works well. It's what I use in the tutorial exercises.

Why do pics of Jesus have straight nose? At least skin color is more accurate according to the Bible. Not sure abt hair.

@@terriseaton3049 Why wouldn't he have a straight nose? Byzantine icons are not intended to be naturalistic portraits. Line, rhythm, and colour are used to make the person depicted in the icon present in the same time and space as the viewer. No matter which side you look at the icon of Christ from, He will be looking at you.
Reminds me of the old masters 17th century. Remarkable talent. ❤
