    I keep hearing that turkey’s are easy to keep alive once they reach about 8 weeks but there is a high die off rate early in their life. Did you had that experience? Tim in Oneida

      Yes, it's true. When they are babies they are VERY sensitive to temperature changes and need a higher temp in the brooder than chickens do. But once they are older they are pretty hardy. We like to keep them in the brooder until around 9 weeks just to make sure everyone is good to go. We also use an immune boosting supplement while they are in the brooder to help keep them healthier.

    25 minutes for already cooked soup is fine. That’s all I do and am still alive. You just need them airtight. All recipes are for food that hasn’t been precooked. I know you have to worry about being sued, but I don’t 🤣. I came to just verify 20 minutes or so was good. I lost my old recipe book where I wrote down everything I did, but my memory said about 29 minutes for pints, which you verified. Too bad everyone is scared into processing the heck out of things when unnecessary. You can end up losing too much water in long processing, too. Anyway, thanks 🙏🏻

    I used to work at a greenhouse back in the 80's, yes I'm old; but I found a chart in a veggie mag that had a companion garden plants suggestions. We ended up posting it in the greenhouse to inform people. They loved it and would copy what pertained to them. You were more informative than the chart and I really loved what you presented. Thank you so much.

    • @dillonfamilyfarms1595
      @dillonfamilyfarms1595 Год назад

      We had some aerial predator issues last year, but we have them in a different area this time. They have trees to hide under as well as their coop. So far I haven't seen any hawks around. Also with a majority of our flock being black australorp they are natural deterrents. They look like ravens/crows from above and the hawks leave them alone.
