    • @HotshotStudio

      I would go for the A7Cr because the extra megapixels and detail is just amazing. Also super 35/apsc mode lets you shoot apsc lenses without sacrificing image quality.

    Thanks for all the suggestions on reducing the size by getting the SmallRig baseplate. Much smaller than that handgrip I had previously.

    I love my x100v and have had it since launch. I have recently picked up the a7cr and started playing with the picture profiles to create film simulations and I am having some really great results. Honestly if sony just allowed us to use the luts for photo they would be changing the game.

    • @HotshotStudio

      Yeah I totally agree. Maybe if there is a little more pressure from the community and users we might get some fuji "kaizen" love in firmware updates.

  • @dj_laundry_list
    @dj_laundry_list 7 месяцев назад

    Or you could get a used A7C (the first version) with a Samyang 35mm f2.8 for about the same price as the X100V. The Sony is thicker with the lens on, around 100g heavier, and doesn't have the unique shooting experience of the fuji, but you get 5 stops of IBIS, and half a stop more light hitting the sensor wide open

      Actually this is where I started. And for the past 2 years I was shooting this very set up with my Fuji x100v as a "fun" back up camera. I started to upgrade to sony lenses so I decided to clean up and consolidate my setups.

    idk man. i get you but its hard to compare those 2 cameras. for me they have completely different usecases. i take my x100v on every trip, on every family event, everywhere. i would not do that with a a7cii. all i want from my fuji is to have all my photos ready on the way home in the subway. the a7cii is for more professional approach which is okay. jsut 2 different fields in my opinion. still really like ur video tho! especially the sound fits good!

    • @HotshotStudio
      @HotshotStudio 7 месяцев назад

      Part of my video (and the comparison) is really just to mentally psych myself into not buying another camera. Its hard I love the Fuji X100 system and I've owned a lot. I agree with you on the use case for family and everywhere use...definitely still smaller than my A7c's. For now I am trying to be content and cut across both personal and work...lets see if I feel the same in 6months time. thanks for commenting. Appreciate it.

    whats the difference video wise between the A7Cii and A7Cr

    • @HotshotStudio
      @HotshotStudio 7 месяцев назад

      The main dif between the two is one is a min Sony A74 the other is a mini A7Rv. 33mp vs 61mp and the video quality is a little better as you can get uncropped 4k compared to the A7Cr. But other than that I was told by a sony rep that there isn't a lot of difference.

    • @HotshotStudio

      I had both at one stage shooting professionally for an agency. I would say the C line are my personal favs now. I would have 1,000,000% loved a updated RX line. But I guess that is what the A7C line kind of became. One can hope

    With the added grip and baseplate it's about as big as an A7IV. I own both and I sold the A7C, its compactness turns out to be marketing hype

    Beautiful footage. I'm considering getting the X-Pro 3 and have been wondering about what it's like to shoot video with this camera. I'm a stills photographer and have never done anything video related, but lately I've been thinking it would be fun to record a little bit of ambient b-roll style footage similar to what you've done here. I know there are other cameras (including other Fujis) that are much more optimized for shooting video, but it looks like the X-Pro 3 is more capable than some give it credit for. Did you use any sort of tripod/monopod here, or was this shot hand-held?

    • @HotshotStudio
      @HotshotStudio 4 года назад

      Thanks Eric. I think the video features are pretty good with the X-Pro3 (although the X-T4 sounds like a better hybrid). I am a stills photographer too and found that shooting video was a nice addition to document my work. All the video sequences were shot handheld. No tripods used. The great think about the fuji is that there is a 120fps option so I could shoot fairly decent footage. I think a bit of IBIS would have helped make the video experience better but for a stills hybrid camera I was impressed with the ease of shooting. The only irritating thing about the Fuji X-Pro3 is navigating to the movie button in the menu. Minor issue as I am used to a button on my Sony A7 series cameras. So handheld is totally possible at 120fps, its also possible in 4k at 60 or lower but you need steady hands. Hope that info helps.

    Awesome work! Deep and creative. You master the art of B&W very well. I'm consdering buying the 75mm or the 50mm for my Fuji X-H1. What do you recommend? at 0:36 what lens did you use? Thanks & Cheers from France.

    • @HotshotStudio
      @HotshotStudio 3 года назад

      Thank you. I actually used the 50mm f1.1 for that shot at 0.36. It gives you about a 75mm/85mm range on a APS-C sensor. I actually like the 7artisans 50mm f1.1 but I find the TT Artisans 50mm f.95 to be a bit sharper (but also a lot heavier). Good luck in your search, and sorry I took a while to reply.

    • @HotshotStudio

      Hey Uros, I haven't had the need to get deep into the HDR mode because I find that I have more than enough info from the Raw files. Pushing and pulling the shadows and highlights in CaptureOne allows me the flexibility I need to make my own HDRs...but, I will be checking this out in the coming week. So at the moment I can't really say that I have tried this feature. But I'll get to it.
