4K VTX 1300 Acceleration
Here is the 2005 Honda VTX 1300s ( S is for spoke wheels) accelerating and going through the gears (1-4 of 5). The motor and transmission like the higher rev range and shifts smoother there. However, you may find that the mpg suffers a bit. Added National Cycle windshield...spent a lot of time adjusting the height / angle on it and I still get some buffeting. But it still helps to be able to ride in 40 degree temps.

The Honda VTX 1300s is one of the best value v-twins on the used market today. Most on the marketplace are listed from 2k to over 5k. I don't recommend purchasing this motorcycle that is not longer in production for more than 3500 dollars. 1312cc motor is built to last, shaft drive is great for around town or on the highways. easily modified to suit your needs.

The audio is much better with an external mic mounted inside the helmet.

Election day highway run. GoPro 10 with media mod using rear mic. Kiwi exhaust modification, which is almost a debaffle of the mufflers. This motorcycle is perfect at highway speeds. Cruises easily at 3k rpm between 65-70mph with plenty left over. Very easy to modify too!

Removed both mufflers and cut off the end of the inner muffler and pipe. drilled additional 1/2" holes in several places inside. Result is a deeper and slightly louder exhaust note.

This bike has several modifications. The Clayton mod to the stock exhaust, addition of Glen's permanent air/fuel mixture screw set at 2 turns. A PAIR valve delete mod with block off plates by Goheen cycles. Finally, a Biker's Choice tachometer from Amazon.

I have a yamaha xvs1300a motorbike and it goes really well. I think the Honda and the Yamaha are just about the same. Motor wise they both can run over 250000 miles easy and only need oil and filter and battery changes so often. These bikes are bullet proof and I love this bike. As you love yours. I'm from Australia and I'm 70 years old. Still love riding my bike.
I agree, these bikes are highly reliable and designed to run efficiently. Ride on!
