    Just for the record I’ve heard if your not running start /Stop you really don’t need the Aux battery the main battery will work perfectly just a point of reference

    Dude, 95% of batteries have only a 36 month warranty. There are only a few expensive batteries that have a 4 year warranty. I don’t think a 5 year warranty exists. I haven’t seen of nor heard of any. And my Mopar main battery that came in my jeep new, lasted me nearly 6 years, which is phenomenal. My aux battery lasted me 4 years. I think some people get luckier than others on some batteries, but there’s no way after 3 or 4 aux batteries that none have lasted over a year. You must have something really draining on your system, or run it idling too much. I don’t really suggest getting a Mopar as they are expensive, and shipping is $$$. But DieHard, odyssey, or Optima are all good batteries.

    I just have had a problem with my 2022 Grand Cherokee L while I was Driving it. I never knew of this... back lighting on the dash out, no crews control, four wheel selector dead, auto lights off. A prompt said call the dealer, which has lead to a service order. The service guy "Oh it's not a problem it could pull down the other one." Now theirs a yellow flag on the road... is my alternator good, is the main battery good, is the starter good.

    the AUX Battery on my JLUR lasted 4 years. I ran it for a while before replacing it and after replacing it a few months later the Main Battery went out. 36 Months is the average warranty on these AUX Batteries even the auto parts stores AutoZone has their top of line Platinum series AUX Battery for 180 dollars has a 3 year warranty. it's probably because the size of the battery is so small, they don't last as long as the larger cell batteries.

    I deleted my aux battery on my 2020 JT. Took out the battery and connected its hot lead to the main battery. Everything works and I’m done changing the aux battery. It is my understanding from the local dealer that once the aux battery gets bellow a certain charge level, the only way to charge it back to full is to put the charger on the aux battery directly. Never getting a full charge is very harmful to batteries. Hence the short lifespan. It takes the better part of and hour to access the aux battery as it buried under the main battery and fuse box.

    Let me help you out here, Jeep has admitted that the start stop and the aux battery is one of two of the biggest mistakes theu have made in Jeep history. The Mopar batteries are actually a pretty good battery, I am going on 4 years in my Ram diesel dual battery scenario. he reason they are warrantying the batteries is because of the shitty aux battery set up that is pre-maturely killing batteries. I owned a 5.7 Hemi converion JK Wrangler that had the Mopar EVTS tracking system with the red light on the dash that blinks 24/7 and I would tell how good a battery was based on how long my Hemi conversion JK would go before the battery would not be able to start the vehicle. Believe it or not the Mopar OEM out performed an Optima Battery, my diesel Gladiator ate an Oddysee battery which I swore on a stack of bibles was the best battery known to man. You get a good one and a bad one once in a while but one thing I know for sure, these days I use only Mopar OEM and I keep the receipt and I have used that same receiipt to replace every battery in all 5 of my Jeeps. Jeep is warrantying batteries for 36 moths along with the standard 3/36 warranty due to the goofy aux battery system. Dont look so far in to it, it hads nothing to do with the batteries.

  • @gsc512
    @gsc512 5 месяцев назад

    The Jeep's probably still trying to use that secondary battery as a energy stabilizer and since it's discharge that's why your experienced using these weird things. It might even be trying to use it and so when it realizes that it's under it switches back which is why you would get the flick ring and the lights. But as far as voltage, I wouldn't be running with the small battery broken because it will destroy your alternator potentially because it will continuously try the charge a dead battery It seems like you were not moving when you enabled the lights and the little battery died was auto start. Stop one of the things that you disabled so that the vehicle would be running off the alternator as far as power and not off of that little battery? There's a lot of Jeep guys and they have a tremendous amount of extras on their vehicles that draw electricity and if the engine's not running and you're drawing from it like electric seats, you can do it one time and it will kill your battery dead permanently. You will forevermore have issues😅 anything that has continuous draw that's high like the lights but if they're LEDs they shouldn't have done that. Anyway, I'm just curious trying to get the issue fixed before I pick up the vehicle. 😅

    In one of the videos, one of the guys disabled the second plunger that tells the computer if the hood is open or closed and in doing so it disables auto start without using electronic means so you can reattach it if you go to the dealership😅 Does anybody know if this has any performance issues if the auto start stop is lit? I'm thinking about buying a Jeep and I have Cummins ram and if the check engine light is on it will drop my MPG. So I was wondering if anybody has a similar experience with the Jeep?

    These aux batteries are terrible, they are low quality and dont last long. However, has anyone else noticed that normal full size car batteries seem to have gotten worse lately? I used to remember car batteries lasting at least 4-5 years and now it seems like they last 2-3 years. And Ive experienced this on other vehicles besides jeeps.

    I hate the dual batteries. Lessons I have learned about 2020 Grand Cherokee. 1. If you get weird lean running errors, check your batteries 1st, the engine module is very sensitive to weak batteries and can cause lean bank calculation errors. 2. Always replace both batteries at same time if having problems with 1. They are NOT electrically isolated and a weak battery will draw down a good battery and also mask the actual issues. 3. The replacement Walmart battery is cheapest around and certainly has been better than the OEM main battery. Thoroughly annoyed at Jeep for a poor job of implementing start/stop just to meet cafe standards.

    Thanks for this video. I recently bought a used 2020 JL and noticed after I bought it, that it wasn’t using the stop/start when I was stopped. When I went to the stop/start gauge cluster, it keep saying “unavailable, battery is charging” so that told me there was some sort of battery issue. I’m outside of the warranty period but dang are batteries expensive. A non-mopar aux battery is between $120-$150 and a regular AGM battery is around $250. So to replace both, isn’t cheap. I just make sure when I get in, to turn off the s/s. I’m not sure if turning it off reduces any draw on the main battery. But at this point, it’s something that needs to be replaced sooner than later…

    Good info, my man! I’m learning more about auto start stop and the duel battery set up every day since my wife’s Compass started acting up. Some things I’ve learned: Aside from the fact that everyone hates auto start/stop, it’s still one of the stupidest things to put on a car. It over works the starter and the batteries, causing them to crap out before they should. Disable the Auto start stop by disconnecting the wiring clip located at the connection to the negative terminal clamp. (Yes, the “A!” Light will stay on but you don’t have to actively disable it.) The factory batteries are anemic. I recommend going to a shop that just does battery replacements if that’s possible. Like a “Battery Warehouse”, or “Batteries R Us”, or something. They’ll load test the batteries in front of you, and if batteries are required, they can replace them with better quality, heavier duty batteries. It might be advisable to replace both batteries at the same time. My main was spent and the aux was heading that direction. The stock batteries are 550 cca for the main and 200cca for the aux. I got a 650 cca Interstate for the main and a Deka 220 cca for the aux for $340, Installed. All is good now! Lol.

    If you ever get sick of the auxiliary battery. You can pull fuse 42 and disconnect the ground wire for the aux battery and your system doesn't even know it's there anymore but you also don't have auto stop start that is what I plan to do because I just realized I hit 36 months last month and my battery died funny how it happens. And you have to make sure that you secure, wrap in electrical tape, the ground wire for the aux battery so that it cannot contact any other metal. ruclips.net/video/ermLRbt4PL8/видео.htmlsi=PMag_8WiNqR4Aihu.
