Bottom line. A white girl going down for killing a brown girl? The judge couldn't make sense of that ; Kelly had love in her heart for animals, she was basically a good girl, right? Give her as little time as possible. Her only crime, "good" family, she should have a life, so the original judge went easy on her. It happens all the time. One life is not equal to another life, as some feel to this day. Reena, unfortunately, was too young to know she and her so called friends were digging her own grave. This is why when young people have decent parents, they need to respect them. They will grow up and can leave home and do what they want. But if they ignore justified warnings from parents, they just might not grow up. Facts! I tried not to listen, and after my " corporal punishment " I saw the light😊 That was old school though.

So Mike would lie about being impartial to get on the jury. Congratulations Mike, you just handed him grounds for appeal.

This happens more often than we know. There are a lot of sick people out there. Parents hold your children close. Real danger is around any corner. 😢

THANKS for covering this story. i actually live down the road from where this happened. my ex was working at Walmart there at the time of it happening. also i was born and raised in Florida. when i was in middle school we had a hurricane so bad we were without power for weeks due to the damage and we weren't even directly hit. however there was 10 years prob 10 years of the 15 your taking about where we had no huge hurricanes but before those 10 years we did have quite a few big ones. its all about the season and luck. for ref I'm in my late 30s. glad you guys are safe.

I was under that same impression that if you went to jail for such an offence the prison culture would dole out the appropriate justice to ensure it never happens again. WTH people?!? If you are already serving life the penalty would be what?

Never been to Waffle House! But I’ve seen the signs on the highway! This is such a tragic case. I don’t want to be judgmental. But WHY???? I feel so bad for Cherish and the whole family. I can’t imagine the guilt her mother has.
