Asked my mum to take me to a psych ward,apparently I’m following a trend

I’ve been to a mental hospital once, if I’m actually completely honest to someone I’m definitely going to one of these instead. ‘be honest to your therapist’ they said.

Lowkey I want to go to a nice pysch ward even though I’m not suicidal or in need of medical attention currently. When I went to camp I loved being away from home, even though it was hard time there when I got home I cried. And for those of you saying I’m being selfish please don’t come after me, I understand that camp and psych ward are COMPLETELY different. It’s just the principal of wanting to be away from home where I’m taken care of surrounded by other people like me.

here’s the rule for having your phone in the mental hospital “You can use your mobile phone unless your psychiatrist has requested otherwise. If you have your mobile phone or camera on the ward, please do not take photographs, voice recordings or videos to respect everyone's privacy.” edit: in my country this is the rule! a mental health hospital has a psych ward within it here, so it is usually an umbrella rule :)

The last psych ward I went to was the only good psych ward I've ever been to in my life. Because here where I live, they care more about building another stupid sports stadium than making psych wards better.

that's funny, when I was in a psych ward my experience was that we were kept from speaking to our fellow inmates outside of monitored group time, offered an advancement plan that involved not being required to wear a psych ward gown all the time and getting clothes from home and getting to call someone on the phone but nobody ever advances bc the staff always tell you you're not doing enough yet until they dismiss you

Where is this FILMED? Where I live...we don't have "psych wards" outside of prison. We have facilities that hold you for three days, diagnose you, give you a scrip, and shove you out with a phone number for local halfway houses/assisted living facilities. You can voluntarily stay for longer but they'll run out of room for you eventually and discharge you. The only way to get into an actual psych ward is to committ a crime and be court ordered to serve your sentence at said mental hospital.

hate how people romanticize this stuff I tried to commit and got sent to one months ago and its not fun and cute. Girls my age post pics of themselves laying in hospital beds like thats not cute and good.

bro no wonder they don’t look crazy these are like hotels… mine was like a prison. Basically this is what mine was: First off empty room only a tall dresser like cabinet with no draws or anything it was literally or stacked wooden empty boxes. The windows were blurred in a way you could NOT see outside but sunlight came in. A regular ass bed with one small pillow a blanket. ( I could’ve tried to uhhh.. gravestone myself with it) NO door on the bathroom in my room but had some weird velcro attached door like a square. the shower was either scorching hot or wayyyyy to cold. (boiling hot.. not lying) and yeah I couldnt have my phone and we had to use all of their supplies and hygiene products that were anti chemical (my skin never looked better while I was there like it was so smooth and nice) anyway it was bad place. not like theses videos AT ALL

So not only did they let you keep your phone, but they gave you your own room? JFC how privileged can you be?!?! Edit: I'm so curious why ALL of these were posted by women and girls. I'm sure we all have theories.

I wonder how often the k word is used here. I have been to a psych ward and kms issues were not as present as in the video. At least in the part of the psych ward i was. Or people didn't talk about it. I too wonder why in the comments lots of people say they were not allowed to have a phone. We were allowed to have a phone, but not allowed to take a photo or make a video. Laptops were not allowed. We were allowed to go outside for a few hours. But most people were to afraid and to bored for that.

Hear me out I once went to a psych ward and bro if i wanted to off myself nobody could stop me like I can hit my head to the wall which i did and i do regret it so please cherish you’re life and believe me it will all get better 🙂
