Plus ageing British footballers used to go to Hong Kong for one last payday in the 80s and 90s, proving those chasing that Saudi bag is absolutely nothing new.

Fun fact about that season Porto won the league. They won it at Benfica’s stadium (their arch rivals) by beating them 2-1. At full time, while Porto were celebrating, Benfica literally shut all the lights of the stadium and switched on the sprinklers; forcing Porto to celebrate in the dark. I want to explain how and where the terminology of "soccer" came from ... Our World Game of Football started in England in the mid 1800s the governing body was/is called The Football Association or The F.A. the second governing body came about in the late 1800s called The Football League (now called The English Football League) that is when mainstream working class people took over playing the game and activly participated in managment of the game. At that time Football (The Football Association = The F.A.) was organised and predominatly played by the English Upper Class ... They liked to "nick-name or shorten words, so instead of saying The Football "Association" or "Association Football" they just said "soccer" ... they did the same with Rugby Union just saying "rhaggah" (that is where your grid iron game came from) Our World governing body for Football is called F.I.F.A. meaning the Federation International FOOTBALL Association as The World Name for Our World Game is FOOTBALL. ...fact!.
