Water has just been really dirty out there recently between people just trashing it up and the amount of birds there, it kind of pollute the water! I think sunset is kind of a no go fishing wise at least until they figure out a way to clean the water up, we did our best to take as much trash out of the water with our net as possible. Fish don’t wanna bite because they feel sick.

@FishinMoney I use cages similar to what you got except they have a "lid" on them. Used an oatmeal base pack bait and corn. I pour a fresh can of corn(with liquid) into a Tupperware container, add sugar/vanilla, and let it soak overnight or even a few days before I go fish. Works real well. I buy premade braided hair rigs in size 2. Been using them for a couple of years now.

That’s cool. I’ve never used a hair rig, but I’d like to try. I didn’t know you could fish at dinosaur park.

Understandable we rarely fish these spots either! But they had not stocked anywhere else so we gave it a try! Didn’t catch anything though. What do you fish for at Lake Mead?

@FishinMoney Yeah I've had similar trips recently as well. More fishing than catching lately lol. I mainly fish for bass at the lake. Striper, largemouth, smallmouth. I've had tons of luck carp fishing and catfishing as well. When it warms up, fishing the plants for bluegill is a lot of fun and certain areas are FULL of gizzard shad. I normally fish near old hatchery road. Lately though I've been hitting up Callville Bay.

I’d love to fish Callville, I’ve heard a lot of people have luck out there. Do you kayak out there?

This is veterans memorial pond in Boulder City! They stock trout in the winter and catfish in the summer!

@ it was funny too because I was chasing 5 or six trout and they seemed very agitated, that’s when i saw the bass pushing them up into the shore, wherever there’s prey, there might be a predator lurking.

@ I don’t even know dude,some guy told me this dude he met came and took all the bass for some reason and wouldn’t throw me back,as long as they are coming back and growing, I’m good!

Oh haha. It’s technically trout dip, but catfish will eat anything stinky so i thought it would help. It’s called Trout Dip by powerbait brand.

@FishinMoney I've been fishing sunset since 1981. When there were no concrete around it looked like a natural pond. I guess it went bad about 10 years ago. Gotten really bad in the last 3 years.

I believe these were channel cats not blue cats but maybe I’m I’m mistaken

@FishinMoney yes. It looks like a channel to me as well. The "piebald" reference deals with the coloration. It's a skin pigmentation of sorts. Just like you see when a whitetail deer is tan/brown with white patches all over.
