Great bass on this version. Thanks for posting.
Incredible!! Super wrong notes at start of The Boy Wonders by someone...
Thanks for this! Two of my favorite vocalists, both severely underrated and underappreciated
I ordered the album from my local record shop when it first came out but they misunderstood the name and couldn't find it. Eventually bought it from a fellow student at uni, though it was so warped the stylus on the turntable could have won the Olympic high jump gold medal. Finally got the CD.
My fav
One of my favourite songs ❤
Wonderful. Thanks.
Wow, that guitar playing by Roger McKue is smokin!
The very first song was composed by bass player/vocalist Dennis Cowan. He and Neil were integral parts of the Bonzo Dog Band disbanded in 1970 The rest are Neil’s
Bass, Guitar, Vocals - Dennis Cowan Design - John Seaton Drums, Vocals - Ian Wallace Lead Guitar - Roger McKew Lead Vocals, Piano, Guitar, Written-By, Producer - Neil Innes
Listen, there’s no reason by which the first three several songs on this album were not hits. I was fortunate because I found out about this Record having been a volunteer DJ at WCUW in Worcester Massachusetts. Some of the more seasoned DJs turned me on about the genius of Neil Innes. The first three songs are total winners; The rest of the album not so much. I’ve seen Neil Innes in person playing solo here in San Diego after I moved out here from Boston in 2010. Very nice guy, after the concert he’d be sitting down and autographing our papers or posters, which I still have up on my kitchen wall and refrigerator.
My fave version of this beautiful song.
This was the bbc all day thing , the cure played at night , free tickets from nite moves , me and hifi Sean made a killing lol
Rock around the clock.
ch a talented guy. When you make Johnny Marr jealous, you are very good. so annoying the interviewer clearly knows nothing about the people involved, absolutely crap questions
Aztec Camera, Echo and the Bunnymen
This footage must be so rare. Thanks for sharing 😊
just amazing.
Wonderful
Nice tribute
A gem! Thanks for sharing.
This is gorgeous. Thank you for posting. Brilliant lyrics and changes. This album was huge to me. Thank you, Roddy.
Will's is the genius melodic playing, takes you to Transylvania.
Where does the plectrum go at 3:12? He starts strumming with his fingers
Maybe it went up his anus.
80th is the best!!!
Legendary
this guy knows how to write chord progressions and lyrics that have class and feeling.
Love this so much ❤
Seen both live. Echo Porcupine, Roddy Surf. Lost interest in Echo after Echo self titled. Roddy never made a bad album.
great set, great sound, thank you !!
roddy frame!
Arlo Guthrie, Eat ya heart out!
Never equalled
Wonderful album. I had read about this in some music magazine and as I was a Bonzo... fan I had a record store order it for me as an import in 1970. A few years back Neil was playing at a place called The Vault in New Jersey. He came out and did a set solo and after a break he had a band behind him and he did the entire Rutles album. What a great night. Later I got him to autograph my World album. Neil is the only person I've ever asked an autograph from. What a gracious, talented man. I still miss the idea that he is no longer with us.
I was at this show. First time I'd ever heard Aztec Camera and I was mesmerized. Thanks for letting me relive that memory.
I can’t quite hear any big noticeable differences between versions one and two
This is how two legends learn and teach a song. First, get drunk, second, get on film, third Ian says Roddy just watch me and hope for the best...
Rody Frame... Heart and soul of pop music. The Scottish Prince.
genius
I live in Marple (where this is near) and I never knew this. Right, another dog-walking destination.
God bless you for putting this on RUclips
Am so pleased you've found this..... That's my big bruv Roger Mckew on lead guitar.... So proud..... Thems was the days 😊 heart. Janet McKew xxx
This is great quality but spoiled a bit by the timecode. Do you happen to have a version without the timecode?
Wats crackin
Brilliant x
Meh. I wanted to hear roddy play a solo. Strum strum strum. Okay. Somebody get the marshmallows, this campfire is going to go on for a while.
For a 19 year old he was very articulate
Neil Innes..?
Yes
Toyah looks better now than she did then, amazing!
I think that's Leslie Ash.
Brilliant. Really enjoyed this. Thank you.
love affair
