Thank you @@MiguelTelarana So, its about transferring the elemnts from one form (liquid) into its self aggregated form using the shape template in the water is that so? what happens to the other 13 kg of alum? do they remain dissolved in the water? It would be a real breakthrough if you could find a way of making the amount of alum also grow organically, like a plant would.

@@pgalaxy Alum crystals grow organically near and on the surface of volcanos. I grew it by dissolving 25 kg (every grain of Alum has the molecule's shape, an octahedron.) As I reduced the temperature, the molecules began to "assemble" around the biggest molecule following its shape or template. Since gravity brings the crystal down, it only developed the top half of the shape or molecule. I could keep reducing the temperature until all Alum is transferred to the single crystal (it could happen at zero degrees.) This one stopped growing at 18.5 c.

@@MiguelTelarana Thank you, very nice but -well, from your description, it seems to be that it does not grow in the sense that it does not multiply its mass For me growth means, that from one seed, I get multiple fruits and each fruits gives more seeds. It looks to me that it just moves around and changes shape (from liquid to crytal) but the amount of elements is not multiplied. Correct me if I am wrong.

@@pgalaxy Right, the amount of elements is not multiplied like in nature. Keep in mind that it is a controlled experiment. However, suppose I don't control the decrease in temperature. In that case, multiple "seeds" will form, and we will have various crystals of smaller size (because they share the same amount of elements in a controlled environment.) Remember, we are talking about the mineral kingdom; it is slightly less complex than the plant kingdom and so on.
