I know a vast majority of the people that read this comment understand this, but this is for those who don’t. The minimum wage is designed to create an appropriate minimum amount of money for payment, not the appropriate amount to support yourself. This mostly used for low experience jobs which I might recommend using for experience to allow yourself to get better job, not trying to live off of them

So 21 dollars an hour. A lot of this comes down to personal choices. If you blow every penny you make then of course you can’t afford anything. You don’t need to pull yourself up by the boot straps just stop buying shit. 3360 a month before taxes assuming a 40 hour work week should be plenty enough for a 12-1300 dollar apartment utilities and groceries. Save some of the rest and spend some of it on what you want.

Well you see, when Covid hit, A buncha oil companies, countries and one president conspired to bottleneck oil production so that oil barel prices would stay steady around 100 dollars. Then when the covid vaccine dropped and economies opened back up around the world, production was MUCH lower than it used to be. Causing shipping/logistics prices to skyrocket. And Oil companies were like... "Based." The cost of everything shot up. But when prices of oil came down and shipping reduced in cost, companies were like, "No cap, sick profits, bring prices down why?" and celebrated record breaking profits. Then a political party convinced everyone it was the fault of the next president after the one who did this market manipulation. And blamed him for not being able to convince Oil companies to put the genie back into the bottle. Hope that clears things up a bit.
