Music Across Cultures
In a world of diversity where often values clash, music leaps across language barriers and unites people of quite different cultural backgrounds. And so, through music, all peoples can come together to make the world a more harmonious place.
Soothing Kazakh Folk Music
Kazakhstan is a country mainly located in Central Asia with a smaller portion west of the Ural River in Eastern Europe.
Kazakh traditional music can be divided into two genres: instrumental music and vocal music. Instrumental music is called Kuy and performed by soloists using Kazakh traditional musical instruments such as dombra and kobyz.

In most Orthodox Churches, there is often both chanting and a traditional choir. Orthodox Christians understand that music is an expression of their beliefs. It also offers a way to communicate with God. As the ultimate form of worship, the entire congregation is called to sing right along with the chanters and choir. In this way, music enables the service to come alive. #music #traditionalmusi...

Hi Tashi
Greetings from halfway around the world in Omaha, Nebraska. Despite the vast distances, Kazakhstan and Nebraska look too similar to ignore. There is something to be said about the wide-open prairie and the boundless steppe... a primordial beauty that cannot be ignored. They say that we are nothing but flat grassland, but in truth, we are so much more. Maybe I'll travel there and meet Borat :)

My great grandfather was a pure Danesman, whose ancestors immigrated here in the 19th century. Love that I found this.

16:02 is a Macedonian song - Ja izlezi Gjurgjo. Its an old traditional song that sings about the freeing of Macedonia from the Ottomans.
Serbian-Macedonian,nowdays country of Macedonia is also known as old Serbia, due to the history of this region.
@@emilianozapata2530 Serbs came in the middle ages from Ukraine and did not reach the southern Balkans until the 11th century.
