Alternator Replacement for Toyota Sienna 2008
This is a how-to video to replace the alternator on a Toyota Sienna 2008 LE. This could be used for earlier and later models. My Sienna 2008 had the battery light on while driving. Car has 160K miles. This process should be similar on Toyota Sienna 1998-2010.
Tools and Parts You Will Need:
*10mm, 12mm and 14mm sockets
*Some short and long socket extensions
*A flat long screwdriver
*Longnose/hose clamps pliers
*Some plastic bags and zip ties
*A bucket and some rags
*Coolant/Antifreeze and a funnel
*Gloves and safety glasses
*And of course a brand new/rebuilt alternator (I bought a remanufactured one on Amazon for $220)

How to Replace Heater Core Tee Hose Toyota Sienna 1998-2010, Sequoia 2008-2013
Просмотров 7 тыс.2 года назад
It's recommended to replace plastic heater water inlet/outlet (aka "heater core T pipe) junctions at 150K miles as they will become hardened and brittle over time, leading to cracks and leaks. My Sienna 2008 had the coolant leak at the T hose connectors at 151K miles. This video shows you how to install quality OEM heater core T hoses in Sienna 2008. This process should be similar on the follow...
wide screen would have helped but that exposed everything very well. What is missing is draining the rad of all that coolant that will otherwise gush out as you take the T fitting out. . Next is having a small pick so you can pull the broken piece out of the hose . If I was to do this again I think for longevity I would get the stainless steel T fittings. Otherwise it takes a while and you save the labor charge. I used hose clamps not the original spring clips .
Do I have to drain my coolant?
Yes that is the prudent thing to do as the T fitting comes out most of the time in pieces and you need at least one hand to stop the coolant from leaking all over the place.
Awesome video! Thank you so much for putting all the information below!!
Which hose enter heater core, the upper one or the lower one? Should they be same temperature or different?
Thanks, this helped me a lot!
Dude I hope you change your radiator fluid fast it's NOT supposed to be brown.
Thanks for pointing that out but that's the pinky fluid for Toyota engines. I did change the antifreeze.
You are a life saver! Thank you soooooooo much for sharing time and info in regards to this repair!!!
Had that happen on the highway while on vacation , had to get a tow plus I was towing a cargo trailer camper . The shop charged 300 bucks. I am going to do the other Tee my self in a week. They used a brass 3/4" pex T connector I am going to use the same not the oem plastic stuff.
Sorry to hear that happened to you during your vacation. $300 was too much for this 1hr repair job. The reason I used the OEM plastic T hose is because the old original one lasted 150k miles on my Sienna so spending $10 on another OEM hopefully would last longer the remaining life on my van.
Keep in mind that the check engine light will be on when you remove the air filter sensor. Just remove the negative battery and then reconnect it will clear the light. Good luck!
