You're welcome Cptmjr, glad you liked it ! Fly safe
Hello sir, I am master student, needed an small VTOL for case study... Please could you supply me with VTOL fixed wing
Good morning Sir, I'm not in VTOL, i'm affraid not to be the good contact
They call it Fox, but if you look at the rudder, it is a Swift :) Which is finde, because the Swift S1 looks nicer then a Fox :) What is the flying weight?
Yes indeed,it looks like a Swift S1 and ... it's a Swift S1 at my eyes. Fying weight start around 200 gr with 4 servos, a micro Rx (Orange 4ch or 6 channels DSM2/DSMx) and a lipo 1S to power the electronic. It's a real GREAT glider fitted with s Selig S3021 airfoil that works VERY well. I'm currently working on teh 3meters span version...
@@frwy1 Where do you have the cg?
@@SoaringExperience CoG is 5.5cm from the leading edge measured at wing root. It can be moved a bit backward if needed.
@@frwy1 thanks a lot!!!
@@SoaringExperience you're welcome Sir ;-)
Très joli !
Merci ! :)
Bonjour, merci pour la vidéo, ou vous êtes vous fournis les plans ? Merci
Bonjour, C'est une conception perso
It's so relaxing. I have never seen that before. Plane without engine flying more than 2 minutes.
Slope soaring allows to glide for hours without engine. The longer flight i performed was 3h30 minutes. I landed the glider just because the night was falling and my receiver's battery was reaching its limit 😊
Good Job!New Subscriber! Please take a look at my Channel, Thank you 🙏
Hi pleas Tell me size expo And size travel aileron ?? Thanks jannovak312@gmail.com
Hi ! I set a control throw of +/- 30° at the AILERONS with 45% expo and a lower rate - something like +/- 20° with 60% expo (used when there is a lot of wind / turbulences); +/- 45° at the RUDDER with 65% expo ; +/- 40° at ELEVATOR with 65% expo for the "3D" settings and +/- 30° with 45% expo for the "Landing mode" that avoid the plane to be too much touchy at the elevator during final approach and landing. I use 2200mAh 3S 40c lipo pushed as forward as possible to balance the plane correctly. I hope this can Help.
thank you very much ... last question .... can I use 4 s batteries? or at 3 s the model can strong vertical turns? thank you ...
You're Welcome. 2200mAh 3S 40c provide already endless vertical climbs. No need to go 4S imho, it will just increase a lot the plane's weight and probably will fries the provided ESC. If you want to replace something, remove the genuine 11x5.5 prop and replace it with an apc style 12x6 or a 12x6 Xoar wood prop. That's all. You will have a VERY powerfull aircraft able to perform any kind of aerobatics. Cheers
hello once more come back to you please that color green holds that plane well? thank you lot sir.
Hi Jan, the Green is the second (new) version of the MXs. Mine is Yellow and the color holds VERY WELL, no problem about that - Great Quality ! Best regards
Bonjour.
Hi dear sir Tell me pleas ...this plane flying classic aerobatik style pattetn ?? or only 3D ?? Thank you lot redoond.Jan
Hi Sir, This plane is an EXCELLENT plane to perform classic aerobatic flight, even when it's fitted with it's genuine propeller. Anyway, i recommand to replace the genuine prop with an APC style 12x6 propeller that give it more torque, more power and a better handling at low speed . i use these propellers (just have to drill them at the good diameter to fit the engine's prop holder) : hobbyking.com/fr_fr/apc-style-propeller-12x6-bone-ccw-1pc.html Enjoy your flights with this plane ! Best regards
thank you very much ... in my hobby shop they have this plane and they still have an Akromaster Pro plane .. multiplex "but it is once so more expensive !! it is so much better ?? thank you. and I am sending a greeting from the city of Prague .. Jan.
@@jannovak2234 i never piloted a Multiplex Acromaster yet but it seems it's a also a very nice plane - may be more oriented on 3D flight performance. Any way all the Multiplex models are generaly VERY WELL engeneered so that can explain the price... But if you lok for an affordable aerobatic foamie, the FMS MXS is a great plane. I still have mine and fly it often. Cheers
excellent !!!! bien vu
Merci 😉
good fly 👍👍
Thanks ! It was with 2s lipo. I fly her with 450mAh 3S now and the gain of power suits her very well.
@@frwy1 I start again to build planes following a loss of my material. A plane like yours suits me very well, I keep your videos in my playlist! Maybe I would build the same ... Thank you for sharing from France / Nantes

How did you install the aileron servo(s)? I've tried it with rudder only but it's insufficent to the point the glider becomes uncontrollable in certain situations.
Hi Giovanni, It's in French but i think the pictures are rather explicit. Hola usted me puede pasar los planos de este avion gracias
Very nice, must still do my maiden
Hi Ruudy, Thanks for your kind words ! I wish you good luck for the maiden flight of your Skyraider - Think do switch the flight stabilizer on "advanced mode" if you are a classic R/c pilot because in "beginner mode" the stabilizator induce pretty weird reactions in my opinion (the plane don't stop to try to return on an horizontal flight and other things pretty annoying when you are used to pilot a plane) Enjoy your Skyraider !
@@frwy1 That's what all the stabilizers do in beginners mode, even the Eflite Safe mode's. But thanks for the tip, now waiting for some calm weather
Great video and great sound. Do you think it is possible to take off from a grass track with this plane?
Hi Mathieu, the Skyraider's wheels are rather small so it may be difficult to take off from rough grass but not impossible in my humble opinion because the brushless is powerfull and can pull the skyraider in the air after something like 5 meters if needed. No problem to take off from a golf curse or short cutted grass, as you can see on this video (it's the same plane) : ruclips.net/video/cEJT9zvvLJg/видео.html Thanks for your kind words and Enjoy your Skyraider, it's a very nice plane to fly (once the stabilizer is set on "advanced mode") Greetings from France
Les plans sont encore sur le groupe, par contre le lien vers les instructions de montage est mort. Serait-il possible de m'en transmettre un nouveau car je ne sais pas monter le planeur sans.
Hi ! I would like to know if a lipo 4s 3300mah would fit in the durafly spitfire mk5 ?
Hi ! Give me the size of your lipo, i will tell you.
Good video to watch. Makes you want to get out and fly.
Thank you very much Bob !
Wow nice flight. Ist there a build thread of your lovely fox? How doch you paint it? Or ist this oracal? Greetings from netherlands.
Hello ! Yes, i made a mini build thread on RcGroups. It's available here : www.rcgroups.com/forums/showthread.php?2870701-Causemann-s-FOX-EPP-120cm-span-glider The Green White Red Fox EPP is painted with acrylic paint before the wing was covered with thin laminating film. On our second Fox Epp i just used red oracover applied on the laminating film. I made a little upgrade on the White / Red : the rear part of the fuselage was a bit too soft so i covered it a few days ago with thin laminating film (i started to apply the film from a few centimeters before the wing's trailing edge and stoped it at the rear point of the fuselage). That extra strength improved A LOT my glider and didn't affected so much the CoG. This glider needs a bit of work to be built (all the space needed into the fuselage have to be dug) but she flies VERY well into winds from 10/15 Km/h up to 40/45Km/h (without ballast). I highly recommand it to fly on small slopes / close of the pilot. Anyway She's not a "VTPR" / real 3D stunt glider but she allows to have a lot of fun with a near crash proof glider that looks like a real glider and as you seen on the video, you can even use it at "combat" :-p Feel free to post questions on the build thread, i will answer with pleasure ! Greetings from Southern France
Great flight and nice place to relax and do some flight 👍
Great flight. This is like a reduced sized Multiplex EasyStar from years past. Probably one of the best beginner's plane design due to the top mounted prop, gentle flying characteristics and belly landing.
Well done! Do you have a video while flying?
Thanks a lot agaskahn! Yes of course i have : See here for the last one i made this summer : ruclips.net/video/s0qhn746pL4/видео.html See here for the maiden flight made during Winter 2016 : ruclips.net/video/3E95vcXh5JI/видео.html Enjoy !

Very nice slope-spot! Would make a very nice holiday-region. No 2.4Ghz yet?
Nice shots! I do not quite understand how your video was set up. Did you manage to do FPV while recording HD video at the same time? What kind of gear did you use for that? Cheers
Hi, "Did you manage to do FPV while recording HD video at the same time?" : Yes, exactly. I use a Mobius action cam plugged on its FPV craddle. The recording is launched from the ground before take off. Here is a video from another YT user that explain how it works (but there is a lot of other video speaking about that subject) : ruclips.net/video/dlvL3dglYj0/видео.html I hope this can help :-) Cheers !
frwy1 Great, thank you!
You're welcome
Great flight
Thx
Freaking awesome dude! I am hexosex the creator of the design. One of the I have seen. You're gonna love that to bits when you get natural with it. Freestyle had never been so much fun!
Thank you so much for your kind words Gary (and also for the design of the Swinger !), the more i pilot my swinger, the most i love it !!
Cracking build and nice flying. You even had a fighter escort for some of the flight
Thanks a lot Andy ! Yes, indeed, the escort fighter was my friend J.P. 's "playmobil glider" - modified as a Rc glider - He maidened that toy while i was taking some videos of the CL-415 ;-p
COuld you slow fly this on a 2s?
Hi Eric, i have no 2S with enough power to perform this test, sorry. I'm not sure that plane with the genuine brushless can fly with a 2S only (CoG issue and probably not enough RPM on the prop)
Wonderful work built with passion and accuracy, looks so real.
Hi ! Thank you so much Rob for your kind words :-)
That was a close call at 3:48! Nicely flown. What cameras did you use?
Thanks a lot ! About the close call, yes, the glider suffered a kind of dynamic stall - all my fault, i asked it a bit too much on the ailerons at this time. I use a Mobius cam with A lens on my cap and for the inflight scenes, that was a Mobius B lens put on my glider's back with velcro and secured with some blenderm strips (a surgical adhesive tape)
You might like the new Mobius Mini then as it's only 28g so the little fella will be able to carry it in lighter winds. I have the A lens set to narrow but a B lens has just come on sale www.rcgroups.com/forums/showthread.php?t=2697022&pp=100
Many Thanks for the infomation about Mobius Mini, i will look that cam (may be Santa could bring me one of these ... ;-p )
Nice Flying! Noticed you removed the SFG's. Do you like it better that way?
About the SFG "not stuck yet" would be more true - I wanted them to be removable but had no time to modify them so... i finaly stuck them on the wing a couple of week ago. The good : The plane is much more easy to fly knife edge with them and also have better trajectories (no "ass twisting" anymore - sorry i don't know the correct words in English). Snap rolls are also a bit less violents with them but you always can increase the control throws to correct that point ;-) The not so good : The plane is more sensible to cross winds - but nothing crippling. it just need to play a bit more with the rudder stick
Your english is fine. I understand what you mean by "ass twisting" ha ha .. I added these same SFG's to my FMS Edge 540 and it changed the flight characteristics dramatically.
Yeah definitely must have been your battery, mine has plenty of vertical. Noting your forward battery placement and how nice she came in for the landing. 3D is better with the battery back almost a full inch but normal landing become a challenge as she wants to float then drop suddenly. At least thats what mine does. I tend to always do power on harrier type landings because of this.
yes, i bought new batteries and all was ok - it's the second time i have nanotech batteries that died after few a bunch of month and only a couple of charge... No problem anymore withe the zippy 2200mAh 40c 3S. Ok for the CoG location, i will try to move it backward ;-).
thx for the redirect. but from my tests the plane only has a max static pull of 1300g and it weighs 1150g a thrust to weight ratio of 1:1.3 therefore it cannot do good 3d certainly not prop hang. do you have a figure for the max static thrust with the original fms motor?
Hi, unfortunately i don't have something to measure the static trust sharply but the weight ratio 1:1.3 is probably right - the plane have enough power to climb verticaly hanged at his prop but it's not a beast of power
Somethings not right with yours. I also don't know the numbers on mine but their is plenty of power for prop hangs. I also have a FMS Edge 540 and I'm pretty sure the motor i received did not measure up to all the reviews I have seen. Finally replaced it with a different brand and size.
That can be a solution. I have a Turnigy 3639 1100Kv brushless. I might replace the stock engine with this theoricaly more powerfull turnigy Green Rectangle RC
Looks the ideal model for your slope and even re-kits itself ready for taking home :-)
yes it is, it's sad that Robbe stoped to sell this little jewel.
this is one of the few videos showing that the plane lacks power. did you do another video with the new battery?
Yes, i did. The plane behavior is FAR FAR better !! The video is here : ruclips.net/video/I36o7LXefv0/видео.html best regards !
Looks like you have it dialled in well. The lz looks a bit brutal though :-(
Yes indeed, this slope have near no Land Zone excepted some bushes and rocks here and there. The wind was weak and the gusts was often 90° from the slope too (the slope is facing south and near all the wind gusts came from the West). The RR wing tips stall as soon as the air speed decrease to much (you can see it just before the last turn) obliging to land the model with a rather high speed for the narrowness of the "landing zone". I would have been better to land in the field at the bottom of the slope.
Mine used to drop a wing and spiral in until I added 10g of nose weight.Sorted!
i use a 1300mAh 2S lipo + a micro 4ch RX and a old 10A ESC used as a UBEC. My CoG setting is near the indicated one (may be some millimeters more forward). It's good for weak conditions but as soon as the wind is stronger, her nose want to raise each time i have to accelerate so i think i will move a bit backward the CoG. At low speed my RR also drop a wing and start a spiral but just have to gather some speed to recover.
I put the troll plan on aerofred , thank you for making and your comment I like this biplane in and outdoor its a great model I build my second with 200gr and indoor it is really coolyour flying is really cool !! , enjoy and have fun with it
So many planes are tail heavy in the kits with the recommended power and motor. Is this plane tail heavy as well or nice CG. Tail heavy makes moderate experience flyers a handful sometimes
Hi Ed, The indicated CoG is just "SPOT" for 3D flights and the Troll is able to accept to be centered VERY tail heavy before to have a too bad behavior. That's the most funny plane i ever piloted and a really must to have. if you need my settings / engine / esc... feel free to ask best regards
Thanks for the answer. Looks like a fun flyer. Got a couple of kits to build then this might be next on the list. I like biplanes and this one looks cute. Ed
Thanks a lot, Build a troll !! ;-)
Going to try this with mine any advice for first time slope.
+Mitterz Hi Mitterz, nothing special : find a slope that face the wind, with no trees in front of the slope, easy to access if it's your first time at the slope and NEVER fly behind the top of the slope, stay in the "wind wave" created by the slope and surf it flying from left to right and right to left some meters in front of the slope's top. If it's your first time at the slope : Never turn facing the slope. If your glider fly with the slope at its right, turn left when you will have to turn. Choose a day with a wind around 15 to 25 Km/h - no more. Enjoy your flights !
how did you do the first it of weathering where you brought out the panels
+Brevard Rioux i just let the panels at their place, stuck with some "patafix". I also put some masking tape between the engine, the armament bay and their panels to protect them during the weathering and the painting of the plane.
frwy1 thanks
you're welcome - sorry for the answer's delay.
