This is a record of a whale and northern light watching trip within the Norwegian Arctic Circle onboard the Dutch tallship Antigua. What a memorable journey, great crew, good food and pleasant fellow passengers! We loved it!!!

We set out on a 7 day canoe trip in Norway, round and about Vatnestrøm, in August 2020 during the pandemic. A lot of countries had code orange at the time, but luckily we had a yellow corridor from Holland, through Germany and Denmark to Norway. We had a great time and camped on multiple spots and the weather was in our favor!

Fjällräven Classic 2017, met m'n broer John uit Zuid-Afrika die spontaan en ongeoefend meeliep omdat mijn oorspronkelijke wandelmaat door omstandigheden niet mee kon. Fjällräven Classic 2017, with my brother John from South Africa who joined spontaneously and untrained because my original hiking buddy was unable to participate due to circumstances.

You are not allowed to cut down trees. The land owners are not happy about it. 😮 Use the firewood at the shelters instead. Where did you get the fishing permit?
You assume we cut down standing trees which we didn't. We used a dead trunk lying on the ground and only the 1st day. Because of the drought we only used our twig stoves for the remainder of the trip. We bought our fishing permit at a local store / small super market.

Couple of weekse I'm going to wild camp in norwegian en sweden, how did u keep the musquitos away?
Hi, I did nothing special other than pitching my test on as windy a spot as possible. And if at any spot there are too many mosquitoes I use Wilma’s of Sweden Nordic Summer.
He mannen, mooie trip en mooi vastgelegd. Zelf bezig met het plannen van een canoe/camping trip komende september met twee vrienden op lake Immeln. Wat vonden jullie de mooiste plekken? We hebben helaas maar 4 dagen op het water… Super veel zin om te gaan!

Nice journey, thank you for ur Video. But please dont Touch the fish with a towel when u want to Release it. The slime is very important for the fish an will be destroyed by touching with towels or dry hands!
You're absolutely right! I was actually planning to eat it, but changed my mind. When I saw the footage back I also thought that that wasn't a very good action of me..

You’re right. 😄 Faulty translation from my side as in Dutch we call both the sweet and salt water ones “Baars” being Bass, which is not the case in English for the sweet water one..
I am quite curious why do you have the crocs with you :) ?
To cross mountain streams without soaking my hiking boots and as camp slippers. Always nice to change footwear after a long day of hiking 😁

Hi Katie, (early) July.
Homeland to both sets of grandparents! My parents were both born in Angola. Last time I visited was in 2005. Unfortunately I was only 4, so there’s not much i can remember unless I see pictures. Hopefully I get to visit within a year or so with my friends. I just love everything about CV.💕

@@TaborPrzemyslaw Depends on your expectation. If you want to langlauf May is fine. If you want to go for a summer hike August is better. 😎
