This does a great job capping off this series while feeling like the pay off the prior two episodes deserved. It has so many nice little NPC interactions and pay offs, sets up so much stuff not just in lore but in terms of how characters will now react in the future with the information Marlow gave them...and all of it wouldn't have even happened if Jace would have just said "Nah I'm good let's go back to the main party" at the end of the last episode. DnD is insane.

A conspiracy mystery combined with a battle in a terraforming arena. This is suppose to be a side story right? And yet there's so much new info here that that tie into the main campaign, on top of that battle being a very effectively balanced underdog narrative, and giving supporting NPCs so much room to shine. Jace's enthusiasm during all this is infectious.

Wow, Amanda's presence was like throwing a fire cracker into the room. She had really good chemistry with Jace, and even when obviously she was a guest and not as locked into the lore, you could play it off as her teasing Marlow. This worked out great. I admit episode 1 while important was what I expected from a side story in terms of being a little more non-essential and lower energy, but the energy in this one speaks for itself. I am curious to see if she does turn up down the line, though either way I suppose her character will.

As someone that works in production, losing anything is a massive bummer, but it's also the nature of the craft. You can triple check and still have an issue, but it also means that problem won't happen again because you'll be hyper aware of it. Despite that, I think you handled it well, and the combination of the drive doc and the recap helped me piece it all together. What we do have here does contain a number of nice character moments anyhow. I think it's impressive how 9 sessions in the cast have already formed natural dynamics and relationships that allow some to confide in others, some to roll their eyes at others, but also be able to switch into professional adventurer mode when they need to. I've been checking out more of campaign 1 recently, and it really shows how far the event-to-event structure as well as the players have refined and hit their stride overtime. Now it is important to take everything I say with a grain of salt as this is the first TTRPG campaign I have ever experienced, but I hope it helps paint some sort of picture from the outside. Very curious to see how the northern tribes react to the gang.

OK I've only made it up to the vision with Andulas (I intend to finish later, gotta get ready for an event tonight, right Atwood?), but here are my takeaways from this ep so far. 1. I absolutely died in the scene between Lucky and Rovick. Like laughing out loud quite literally. 2. The visions so far are captivating. They remind me of some stuff from campaign 1 like the visions of each character's greatest fear or something like that when the party was in the Feywild (can't remember the exact details of this). Bravo, so great, per usual. 3. Fan conspiracy theory #1 - I am officially suspicious of Harold. Bonnie just keeps saying she is sticking close to him. Maybe I'm just being paranoid, but I think the thing that the audience learned about Bonnie in the last episode has me on alert. 4. Fan conspiracy theory #2 (or maybe this was already described to the audience and I just missed it) - in my head, I want for Lucky to be somewhat related to two Lightbringers that I remember from campaign 1. I'm only on episode ~105, but I seem to remember there were two Lightbringers and they were married and there was some tragic element (one of them died?)...need to go back and remind myself of this (I dream of a Wiki for Alyria - Wikyria, if you will) because that lore was really interesting to me.

This was a pretty stellar episode in general, so it's difficult to pick a specific moment. It says something when the interpersonal conflict turns out to be as engaging as the reveals that come after. Lucky and Rovick's argument was a rollercoaster, and the way Rovick kept dragging it out and Lucky's false reveal it was a stunning set of dominoes. The visions were all beautifully described and intriguing in their own ways, I think the DM did a very nice job making the reveals in each equally compelling, which is not an easy feat. I feel Lucky's would be more significant to me if I had more experience with the prior campaign, but still, some very interesting lines in that one. It definitely stirs the excitement for how these elements of their pasts may play into further adventures, especially considering they are in uncharted lands. If I had to force myself to nail down a specific favorite, I would say Bonnie's was overall the one that pulled me in the most, finally giving more context to what her real name implied, but even then I feel conflicted with how strong each of them were. Very much looking forward to next week, and very happy to have Jace back and the strong chemistry they bring out of their crew. (Keeping in the bts that the ritual could have gone very different was also very appreciated.)

This was fun! I'm happy the crew enjoyed my questions, and the answers were all great. I really liked learning about what tools Andulas has available, and I was impressed how Rob pulled that meal out on the spot. But honestly my favorite part was hearing about the inspirations and the discussion afterwards of how much different the vibe is from the prior campaign. I had actually listened to the first couple episodes of The Ticket Takers before I decided to jump to Frontiers, and despite how rougher around the edges elements could be in the early days, it was honestly that first episode that got me to pursue everything else. I definitely want to get through the rest of it one day, though in the meantime I am excited to see more of the explorers.

Another nice bit of downtime after all the action last week, but never a dull moment. Obviously Bonnie's name reveal is the highlight here, though I'm pretty interested to see what more we may learn about Andulas as the focus turns to witches. Also the idea of a trap or monster that is only activated by pop culture references came to mind while watching this part, and how easily Kihran and Bonnie would set it off haha. Not that I would be much better in their situation.

I am a friend of Ace and Atwood, I also have a theater background (with some radio and TV), but I have no prior experience with DnD besides the recent movie. I've had friends recommend it to me, but I assumed it wasn't my thing. A week ago Ace dropped a link to this RUclips channel as an aside, and I half-seriously put on the first episode while I did my morning remote work. When I saw that two hours had passed and I was still listening to it, I screamed in terror and clicked back. Later that day, I was listening to the next part while taking a walk, because I genuinely wanted to know what happened next...and then it snowballed from there and I guess here I am. This has opened me up to what makes the storytelling of DnD so compelling when you have an experienced DM and team. The careful interplay of concealing information between each other, while having a set structure of events to hit, but also allowing for the characters to dramatically change dynamics or those events, it's both addictive and very engaging. Each of the crew being friends with years of built up chemistry make things flow so well, while the DM describes things with the same vividness of a...it's going to sound silly...but a painter. His voice is made for conveying landscapes, lore, and subtle character movements. I did not come into this episode expecting to learn evil mushroom botany or Rovick to shoot himself in the face. There were a number of nice reveals, character moments, and cool details about the giants' culture. My reactions tend to hit in beat with the players which works great. I also continue to appreciate the presentation upgrades from campaign 1 to 2, whenever it's the animated backgrounds on the character portraits, or the appealing colors choices of gold and blue for the frontier theme. Keep up the great work!

Is this person trying to avoid telling her in-game parents that she's gay? My current character ran away from home as a teenager and was supposed to inherent all the tribe's knowledge and history. Returned home after becoming a Captain of several armies, and returned home to unite her old tribe under her leadership as well. Whatever your character is going through, I'm sure it'll be fine.
