It's those last two lines before Schindler completely breaks down into tears that get me every single time, and it's the way the line is phrased and delivered. "It would've given me one. One more. One more person. A person, Stern." It's the use of the word "person," and "people," that highlights such a stark contrast from the beginning. He once only saw these people as assets, workers, a means of which to profit from. But with those final lines, he doesn't refer to those he saved and wanted to save as, "Jews," or "workers." He says that, standing there with everyone else, there could have been another person. It's soul crushing to hear him not want to accept Stern's truthful, encouraging words. The overwhelming guilt that he missed the opportunity to give his remaining material possessions just to save even one more person. One more human being. But it's as Stern said: "You did so much."
