A brief tribute to 'Gunners Lakeshore Rocket' on how he enjoyed the cold big waves of Lake Michigan.
Warm n Cozy in -5° not on your life. Miserable is more accurate. Look at you. You can barely stand to be out there for the few minutes it took to make this vid.
Very helpful. I have two labs that I don’t have to worry about but I do have a pitbull mix that I do have to worry about in winter. We don’t get extreme cold in northern AZ but it can get below 10 degrees. He is a great guard dog so we utilized cedar chips inside his igloo along with a carhartt jacket. It’s 18 degree lows right now and will only get colder.
Bought 2 pups from bob and their father was rocket! Both great dogs!
We use straw for housing feral cat outdoors. It truly does keep them dry & warm. I also use the double bubble reflectix insulation & use that around the enclosure for added protection as well.
Just wonderful, been searching for "how to build a small dog house" for a while now, and I think this has helped. You ever tried - Ganyan Canicholas Formula - (search on google ) ? Ive heard some awesome things about it and my cousin got amazing results with it.

Hey Bob - I just stumbled across your RUclips channel. Very cool to see. I have one of your Chesapeakes, sired by lakeshore Rocket. He is now 8.5 years old and is a great dog. I've hunted with him ducks in WI, upland birds in WI and Dakotas, and upland birds in Idaho. We now live in Idaho and he has found some elk shed antlers for me as well and has picked up shed hunting intuitively. I now have 2 young daughters and he is great with them as well.

Yes these Chesapeake Bays stay in those houses and I know the houses look small but its amazing how small of a spot they prefer, I actually stuff the house about 1/2 full in depth so that there is very limited head room so they need to crawl and sneak into.
Robert Budnik I have a Chesapeake puppy and it seems like he likes being outside more then inside. I'm building a little heater for his house but he seems to really like the straw I put in his house too

Nice video on how to keep dogs warm and comfortable during the winter months. Do you know how well pine straw would fare as winter bedding? Also, about the dogs that we saw here in the video. They are quite large. Is the house we see you put bedding in for one of those dogs? The house and entrance seems to be a bit small for them don't you think?
They're only for sleeping. . . Dogs will start to use the bathroom in their house if they're is too much space, also when it's windy and rainy the cold air get trapped vs not allowing it in, in the first place. ..
