It has all the amenities and is definitely gentrifying in the city centre. Excellent parks and good walking infrastructure. Could do with a bit more culture (theatres aren't much supported) but it's a good little city and one of the fastest-growing in the UK! 😊

Walked here many times.My son lives opposite Princes Key.Lived in Hull more than 50 years.Arrived from Rotterdam Netherlands.Something about HULL.Left once and came back again.Hull is twinned with Rotterdam.First crossing I did to Hull was on the Melrose Abbey passenger cargo vessel.Lovely small vessels but they could motor.Marina is nice.The pier wants finishing off for people to walk on again.Come on council get a move on please.

Lived in Aylesbury from 1998-2015, and saw the town expand rapidly. Like any Home Counties town, it has it's good and bad areas, but for the most part, living there was not that bad. It felt relatively safe and in the beginning had a decent selection of shops, pubs etc. However the expansion of the town and the several housing estates built surrounding it, have put enormous strain on the infrastructure there. Add to that, the fact the high street is struggling and some shops have been and gone, the shopping isn't as good as it used to be. Unfortunately, Aylesbury is sandwiched between MK and Oxford therefore ppl prob go there for better shopping experiences. I still rent out a property there and every time I visit I am somewhat saddened to see green fields now housing estates and roads absolutely rammed with traffic. Plus with the carbuncle of HS2 now running through it, the roads are worse than ever. That said, I still think there are worse places in the UK...

This town is my forever home.....

I was born in London 1964. Lived in and around Rotherham since 1968. It was fabulous when I moved back to the centre in 1988. Anything I wanted was just 5 minutes walk away. It's now a complete dump.

I grew up in Lowestoft, in the sixties and seventies, it was a great place and a wonderful shopping centre. Sadly the ending of the Fishing industry started the decline, let's hope the growing offshore industries will help the town prosper again. I remember walking down the high street in the run up to Christmas seeing all the shops with the bright lights. When I was in the RAF we enjoyed visiting my parents and spending a day with the kids replenishing their clothes, before an afternoon on the beach. at 17:11 on the left is the church my parents got married in, my last link with he town.

I remember the 1960’s as a small child shopping with my mother in the old indoor markets, visits with my father to the old slUghter yard, eventually in the 70’s working in the town centre, xmas time was full of lights,its so sad to see it now,parkgate&meadowhall shopping killed it.used to be packed out many moons ago 😢

Its an absolute dirty dump full of ....and potholes and ....then there's sewage all over old roads etc then there's even more ...living in sheds garages lofts etc ..... Yuk horrible town

Many towns are the same now - tacky, cheap looking and full of "ethnics" . My wife comes from Rotherham and we have lived there, but she would never go back. Where we live now it's a very easy drive down to the motorway junction. We have nice countryside and a large forest on the doorstep and the roads here in Lincolnshire don't wreck your car's suspension. Also we don't have ethnics with an appetite for "little girls"!

Born in Rotherham and left it in 1982. It's not improved much over the years, but it's no different to anywhere else. There are good bits and bad bits. It's forever tainted by the grooming scandal.

This could have been done with some more cheerful Music.

The Forge Island is a big improvement. I think the best plan for the town centre would be to remove the pedestrian areas and make it accessable by cars again how it was in the 80s. It meant you could drive into town and pop into shops. Fond memories of spending my weekend in the 80s there getting up to all sorts.
