Was confused at first when you said Newchurch, was thinking to myself that is nowhere near Pendle, didn't realise there was one over that way, had to look. I walked the trail a few times in Covid, not done it for a while TBH. Definitely would not want to camp in those woods, too many widow makers in there. I think you were right as to why there are only 9, I am sure I remember someone telling me that one of them was from Gisburn way, which given its locality to Yorkshire could be why one was hanged in York. Another lovely local walk, enjoyed seeing it from someone else's POV.

What beautiful views, the fields and rock walls and the sun in the sky, I take in when its as cold as it has been here this week, -20s unfortunately the animals like to run in the cold, so you miss some, but it gets frosted up, mine doesn't perform as well and batteries die faster unless lithium, when just the camera, lots of others have better experiences with them, they even got solar ones now. Thanks for taking us along, nice walk around

They are Muscovy ducks I think, they are not native to the UK but we now have some populations in the UK. Another new walk to me given how local I am. Been through Barley but never Roughlee. Shame they made the Barley carpark pay and display rather than based on trusted donations, makes that road that runs past it always rammed.

For all the times I have walked Pendle Hill I have never gone via Sabden, I always go from Barley up the Steps. Might give it a go this way next time. Amazes me how beautiful the moors around Accy, Darwen, Hassy are, I am a fairweather hiker though as I have not kitted the car out to camp just in case.

I love this part of the country, i live in nearby Burnley. I love the history of the area and obviously the infamous witches
