Everyone talked about Brock ending the streak of Taker being uncalled for. What Nash did to the streak and then the Fingerpoke of Doom was an insult to Wrestling and wayyyy worse. Goldberg's streak will forever be the best streak.
Kevin Nash didn't do anything to harm Goldberg's legacy. The fact it took a damn stun gun *and* the best Powerbomb in the business to barely get a 3 count on him made him look even more dominant. And the first month after the Fingerpoke had great main events on Nitro and it was a blast...until apparently Goldberg entered contract re-negotiations and then they took him out of that storyline and replaced him with Ric Flair. Then the injuries to all the nWo elite members piled up. Bad timing on top of bad luck ended what started as WCW's best storyline ever, and we lost out on the ending the nWo had really deserved. Imagine Goldberg kicking out. Then he's just using a Game Genie invincibility code. It gets boring to think there's no way to win against him, then you couldn't go in with wonder. Bret Hart was having such a great storyline with Goldberg when Vince Russo came in and turned it upside down to have them play out a stupid WWF rehash. You couldn't have had that build up for it with Goldberg losing over and over to Bret Hart throughout 1999 if he had beaten Nash that night. Maybe you'd have had a better ending that Roddy Piper coming to the ring during Starcade, but just as many people would have been tuned out by that point.
