    The big problems are the exhausts, 20/30 % of your power comes from exhaust resonance. That's why 2stroke bikes all have the Same ugly pipes and resonator setup, still an interesting bike , try messing around with the exhaust tip placement it may make a difference.

      Word. You can always affect the geometry or soften or harden the spring rate by moving those top shock stud mounts fore or aft, up or down. If you can't get to it from the original position of the fuel tank then just loosen one bolt that's holding the rear fuel tank and lift a little till you have enough room. But if I remember correctly you don't have to but do make sure you have the correct length extension and/or a universal joint can come in handy. Lastly you will need a thin wall socket for the plugs. Good luck 👍

      @zukins5003 Год назад

      Wow, not sure why I didn't get this notification;(. I didn't have to cut or do anything with my kickstand but parked at even the slightest incline to the right you will have a chance of tipping over if someone bumps into it. Good luck brother and lmk what you decide to do:)

    • @frogman1055
      @frogman1055 Год назад

      How does the bike lean on it's stock side kickstand? Do you plan to cut and shorten the kickstand for a more lean angle? I lowered mine 2 inches and kept my kickstand stock and it stands up a little straighter, but I was told I should first order a used kickstand on Ebay or Amazon then score or mark a straight line on the back side for realignment when it's time to reweld. Cut off and remove about 1 1/2 to 2 inches of my kickstand and round out the two flat ends and reweld the foot back onto the leg. There are videos on RUclips showing how to shorten the kickstand. So if you lowered your bike 3 to 3 and half inches, It is recommended that the side kickstand should be cut, shortened and rewelded, in your bike's case possibly a minimum of 3 inches of shortening the kickstand and reweld the bottom foot back on. By shortening the kickstand, it will allow your bike to lean further back the original lean angle and avoid having the fear of your bike from tipping over to the right side. When you do decide to shorten your kickstand, can you make a video of your progress. Thank you.

    • @zukins5003
      @zukins5003 Год назад

      Absolutely will that is if I cut but to be honest I actually like how it sits just a bit upright. I also recently added some welds on the bottom of my kickstand to get it more upright. I know it sounds weird but it might also be the grinding of my kickstand. Anyways I will make a video of my bike's stance and will show all the details, it might be be useful for someone thinking of lowering their bikes. Stay tuned..

    • @zukins5003
      @zukins5003 Год назад

      Yes got it, when you cut your kick and mark it I personally think it's best to have a second person help hold the bike as you lean the bike over to the left and tack weld to make sure the feet of the bottom kickstand is flat and you have it leaning the way you want before welding. But I'm sure once you do start you'll find out what works best for you. Most importantly just make sure your welds are strong. Hang tight and I'll try to make the video tomorrow.. during my free time.

      Ain't that the truth lol but really I've had bad luck with drying out pivoting points and electrical problems so now when she does get a bath I try to go easy on her;) haha

    So the lower the perch the bouncier the ride? Higher up (like you did in this video) stiffens it up? My bike rides about as stiff as a shopping cart and am hoping to soften it up a little.

      Yes Johnny you're correct, but also depends on how old is that shock (worn) and how is the bike loaded (preload). Don't forget to check tires and front forks, you might be surprised what worn front forks(oil) can do to the overall feel. Good luck brother and sorry for the late reply.

    I want to say thank you for your video. You were spot on in. My 86 Yamaha yz250 was having the same issues, hard starting, about 10 kicks, but once it started it ran great. I removed carb, cleaned choke circuit with a small wire, and it started on first kick. You know carbs!

      Glad you got it to fire on one kick brother. I'm definitely learning as I go and probably like yourself just fixing what's not feeling right. Btw I would love to own anything bigger than a 150 here in my neck of the woods especially your old school yz250.

    What year is this? My 2016 doesn’t seem to have that.
