This has always been the thought, magi we’re always weak but they’ve upgraded recently… are they pretty good now?

@@JB-qq1xz Not really. But Thorns got a buff and now it seems like Bramble can be used in place of Enigma now for extra poison damage and thorns to your summons. With the sunder charm potentially moving to non-ladder (unconfirmed) Poison necro has a lot of really high damage potential now, this hybrid build is probably real solid.

Why? I have this build and my skeletons kill anything with poison inmunity.

The video was made right before 2.4 details were announced actually but I think most is still relevant as mages were not boosted enough to make pure summon the only way to go. The merc weapon could be updated now potentially though to go for more poison damage.

Yeah you're right. I mean I like the gameplay but the monetization is getting more and more aggressive indeed!

Thank you for watching Kevin! That's the usual road indeed, but I rely on the summons to take care of poison immunes then CE as the build is hybrid. These points to reach lower resist prevent the build from being fully hybrid, and I prefer to cast only one curse (amplify damage, that boosts summons and CE), then Poison Nova and CE.

Thanks for watching Donte! That would work for sure, but it'd be more of a Poison necro than an hybrid though in my opinion. You have a bit more flexibility on the last 15 talent points though. And if you're crazy enough, you can do a Beast Iron Golem even :p :p, and boost crushing blow revives.

You're right, you'll be missing the Might Aura though then no? I thought about going A1 merc too with Faith but I couldn't find a way to make it better than A2 for certain you know.. I think if you have a lot of extra fg (or else) maybe it's worth a try, otherwise could wait for the next patch and see. For instance, as poison necro we will need plague runeword so I wouldn't invest a lot on a merc weapon right now if that makes sense, and start saving for it when it'll get off the ladder. diablo-archive.fandom.com/wiki/Plague_(Diablo_II_Rune_Word) Hope that helps!

Thanks for watching eigentensor! Yeah CTA can help for sure but tbh your skells don't die much overall already, just more comfortable with it in my opinion. It can make the iron golem safer also if you decide to use it for insight or else. Yeah I think this build overall will need an update with the next patch, with plague especially on the Merc for extra poison damage. Thanks for watching SEbZ! Good luck on the build, I think it should stay strong for another 5-6 month off-ladder, and might need a respec after that as they will improve the mages. (I would suggest to max summons first if you have budget gear, and have your skillers for summons too, and swap the skillers etc to poison when you get better gear.) Personally I will put one point in mages still even if they're useless now but they look cool haha. After the ladder I will investigate a potential build that uses poison as support and main dps, but I don't know, I really like one character with mixed sources of damage. Creating 4-5 characters with Enigma and all seems like 5 years of investment to me xD.

@@TempusValorem I believe I need to wait to try this build at least when I hit lvl 98:D otherwise I won't be able to test a full potential of it:( Speaking of the mages buff with the next patch, I'm very curious what they are going to do:D

Honestly, psn, whether pure or hybrid… I wouldn’t want to do without dweb… in conjunction with sunder and 3 piece Trang, you could stick with amp and not LR. Amp will help with skeletons and CE and merc

I would say go for Summons, Corpse Explosion maxed and a bit of Bone Armor (and few synergies) for budget gear, casting the poison nova will slow you down if under-geared, better to wait for the first corpse and then spam corpse explosion you know. Once you have DWeb you can start respecing in this though, hope that helps!

I'm trying real hard to life Fire Staff but not feeling it. I had originally taken incinerate to work down to the heal but the heal is really negligible for me anyway. I do far more heal with the warhammer or greataxe. Overall Fire is just feeling clunky to me, but I keep trying lol.

@@JohnVanderbeck Hey John, Vhaen suggestion can help for sure, and changing from incinerate is not a bad idea anyway. For the opener in PvE you can do what he said, but to spice it up that my opening: trap, bomb, fire pillar, bomb detonation cc, 1-2 heavy fire staff attack and usually nothing survive more than this lol. To be honest I stopped playing for a few weeks now but I changed to another build before doing so: warhammer/hatchet I quite liked the cc and dps of groups with the warhammer and single target dps boost from the hatchet, not sure if you tried that, but could be a lead too, full on heavy or medium + heavy chest.

I did not experiment so much with it in PvP, but I would say it should be great in team PvP and/or wars, but maybe a bit weaker than the Rapier/Fire Staff in terms of solo-pvping you know. Personally I do not like the rapier gameplay in PvE at all and I wanted something more broad that could be used in most situations. I will try to get PvP footage for the next video and keep you posted!

That's a good sum up Yunan! Yeah that would work for sure, I find the way 7DS does it "relatively fair" also. To be honest, with AS, I think the main problem is that players would expect the banners to be limited ones as it's a standard in the industry, if it was written that it will come to the standard banner once the new banner is over, it would have much less negativity even if the system would not change I would say.

@@TempusValorem is that really the standard? I don't really play gacha games before Arknights so adding new characters to standard banner feels like a common thing. I think they actually put the description on the banner details, on how new characters are added to the next banners. If not explained explicitly, they still listed all of the available characters on the banner, exactly like how Arknights does. Alchemy stars really uses Arknights as a golden standard. All the colossus, solamber system, and pity system is almost a carbon copy of arknights, aside from the pity being actually higher with increment of 2.5% compared to Arknights' 2% after 50 pulls.

@@yunan9610 Yeah unfortunately, that's how purchases are driven most of the time in Gacha games, and the best heroes are very often limited ones. Genshin Impact, Epic Seven, The Seven Deadly Sins... It's the best way to drain players' pockets really, introduce FOMO and Gacha mechanics and shake it all for best revenues. It's quite sad overall, even if I love gacha games, I wish there were more that did not rely on few players whaling to make up their revenues. To come back to your point, for sure Alchemy Stars got inspired (a lot) by Arknights.

@@TempusValorem I've cleared Frost and Thunderbolt spire until floor 90, as for Molten and Emerald I got stuck on floor 89. Floor 89 is the "gacha wall" since you need specific characters and breakthroughs to clear them. I haven't been able to clear Molten spire because I don't have Victoria and Faust, and I can't clear emerald spire because I've no Hiiro. Michael is pretty much mandatory for the thunderbolt spire

I think she looks really cool! Team-wise, it depends if you have better sniper/detonator, if not, she's a good budget character I believe. (I do not have her A3 though.) Also.. dragons!
