How long should I leave a pinky in warm water?
😊❤😊 ughh it's biting you 😮
yea they are little sharp fangs for sure.
@@Angry_Hogs does it hurt?
@@heatherbrunner2165 yes it does, they’re teeth are like little needles. I have thick calluses from work, and I can still feel their teeth. I hate getting bit by any animal. This hognose thinks everything is food.
@@Angry_Hogs do they ever outgrow that?
That is a good question. Probably will put it to the test now :)
❤ little guy pokes his eye around in front of the camera he is so cute😊 so did you have any that aren't sold that are at lavender or did they all sell
Thanks heather! I don’t have any visual lavenders yet. My females may be gravid and might be expecting eggs 🥚 soon. They will be visual lavenders. These are all posible het lavenders and no visuals.
@@Angry_Hogs I can't wait,😁❣️
Those are very beautiful babies!!! I've been a bit out of the loop lately and got behind. Did you get an all new rack? I don't remember your bins being see through! The last I was here was when you were deciding how to rearrange the rodents and give your bunch more room! I'm very impressed with your baby girl's knowledge of keeping reptiles!
Thank you I appreciate it!! No it’s actually the same one it was half empty so we just got some clear bins for the babies. We too haven’t been as productive with our videos because of summer and just life. All good 😊 thanks again.
Great video and information. I was contemplating this very thing, and you have helped me make a better decision.
Glad it was of help! Thanks for the comment:)
I must of got lucky then when I rescued my african grey last year his 6 now and his owner who I rescued him from was keeping him locked in a cage all his life and like i said his only been with me a year and his amazing with all my family men women and children he loves everyone so I defo got lucky lol. His out all the time apart from bedtime and when I pop out. Unfortunately, he can not fly due to being locked in cage, but I am hoping with more and more training and him feeling confident he will eventually fly. He walks around everywhere or wants to be carried about, haha. They are amazing birds, but definitely for experienced bird owners, definitely not a beginner bird. They need alot of attention and bonding time.
That is really great.! My African, can be good with my family but on his terms. We didn’t hand raise him like our other bird but he is doing better! Glad to hear this story, And i agree , these birds are not for everyone. They vary so much from bird to bird. 🐦
@Angry_Hogs most definitely, they are so intelligent and take up alot of time and not gonna lie it's hard work at times lol but so worth it. It's just a shame that people see these beautiful birds and buy them and have no knowledge about them and assume they can just leave them in a cage and get them out when they feel like it and wonder why they get bit. I love ur grey absolutely beautiful. Mines plucked all on his front and legs due to being locked in cage it's really really sad but his a happy boy with me always talking and whistling haha it's super cute
❤ African gray is my favorite 😊 that is so funny do they all bounce up and down like she does lol
Yea she is very cute, we take her outside and people immediately love her, she will bite if someone does something mean to her.
@@Angry_Hogs lol 🤣🤣 I do too
I regret selling my African grey parrot. I sold him many years ago. But lately the memory has come back to haunt me.
Sorry to hear that! We all learn from our mistakes in life, thanks for being honest. They are a handful but i think thats also a good thing about them. :)
@@Angry_Hogs Joey was alone all day while we were at work. And he was noisy and caused a lot of mess. Not surprised being stuck in a cage all the time.
Pena que no hagas mas videos en Español
Gracias Oscar por el comentario, creo que vamos a empezar a hacer mas videos en castellano.! Al final estamos en un país de habla hispana.
I wanna know what the hell is going on that all of your snakes are getting infected with the same thing. What’s causing it?
They have impacted scent glands… just my luck bro. In the wild they musk but in captivity they are domesticated and retain all that musk and sometimes they’ll get infected.
❤ congratulations😊 you always go above and beyond. I didn't hear you say how much the male weighed? Ty for sharing 😊😊
Tjank you heather! The male was 9 grams. I cut that part out if the video because there was some technical difficulties haha 🤣
❤ I have seen people quite a few breeders do put at least two sometimes three babies and have been until they're eating good on their own they say they take off better that way😊 bunch of beautiful babies as usual❤ the ending of the video was pretty awesome the shedding I love that ty
Group feeding for my 4th clutch was a 6/9 success rate right off the bat. 🦇 look forward to keep trying it. Thank you for your support heather!
@@Angry_Hogs I thank you for all you do I've learned more from you than any other channel 😁

❤ so many beautiful babies😊 I can't believe how they take food out of your hand like that LOL
Thank you! They’re amazing 🤩
My friend had one for 6 months and couldnt put up with the screeching, so i took her How do i get the lorikeet to eat from my hand? If i have my hands in her cage no problem she will come close and feel my arm, but if i try to rub her she backs away, I want to be able to let her out
I hand reared mine, if you’re from the states, I believe that’s illegal to do. Unfortunately, I have never had a bird that wasn’t raised from chick 🐥
Tip for others though, it really is best to get 2. They still bond with their humans, but don't imprint & see them as their mate in the way this one is with you, very entertaining to watch 2 playing too!
Yes she is amazing, had the blessing to hand raise her myself. She loves me to death.
Agree they need a mate
Imprinting happens when they're chicks. For instance around the 7th to 9th day a starling will imprint on its parents, but if it falls from the nest and a human feeds it, talks to it or holds it it will imprint on the human and look to the human to learn how to be a bird. As an adult, it won't find a mate. Hand fed hand raised makes it a little easier for us, but it breaks their essential birdness and makes it harder for them to bond to other birds. Working at a rescue, you see hundreds of birds ignoring other birds and competing for a human attention. It's sad really.
@@tinandglassthanks for that info, I didn’t know and I saw it first hand. Unfortunately the male is no longer with us. She on the other hand cannot live without me. It’s really a nest experience but I can see how how sanctuaries are full with these birds. 😢 Thanks for all that you do.
I had this video saved to watch later and forgot about it. Randomly came back to it, but after I had started already paying attention to their tongue movements on our hognose’s recently. I think you’re on to something.
Thank you! Really every snake is different, so it’s hard to generalize. But I had fun making the video. Thanks 🙏
She is so cute I have a lorrikeet bought it up from a baby it talks and knows all the family's names the only thing is it has lost feathers fomthe neck down showing bare skin have taken it to the vet and didn't help I'm so worried any information please 😢
Im really inexperienced, Wish I could help you. Best of luck, and they really are a incredible species:)
it's plucking, nothing else causes this in lorikeets, not even PBFD. Head's ok cause it's hard to reach to pull the feathers out
❤ always good information thank you😊
TY!
can you please do this again but show us all of them eating? you can get a tripod
Yea maybe next year. They’ve all ate now. When i have new hatchlings.
Hello! What substrate do you prefer for hognoses?
Hi, we use lignocel, a european substrate but i think others work just as well.
Interesting! Noted.

Thanks for your help Heather!
@@Angry_Hogs I don't think I have helped but ye my friend 💖😁 I sent you another email I just don't know if you got it yet
I think this video was better constructed and more thoroughly put together than the first one. I agree that we should try to eliminate every other variable that is causing a snake to refuse food. But I also think that some variables are only eliminated by assist feeding. If a snake has an internal defect that is causing it stress and therefore also causing it to refuse, then assist feeding can be a sure fire way to eliminate that variable. If an assist fed snake fails to thrive, then its safe to say that an internal issue may be at play. If an assist fed snake starts feeding regularly afterwards, then its safe to say its something other than internal defects and probably caused by either husbandry or even a personality difference. Similarly, if you never assist feed a snake, how would you ever know if it wasnt just the smell of birds in the room, or the continuous movement of people in the room or any of the multitude of variables that can cause a snake to refuse. Even things undetectable to us, such as barometric pressure, changes in elevation, lattitude etc can cause a refusal to eat. I think its important to remember that a slippery slope in either direction isn't benefiting breeding stock or the hobby in general. We dont want to breed snakes that will 100% need to be assist fed just to survive, but we also dont want to simply cull off snakes that dont do exactly what we want them to when we want them to do it when we dont 100% understand why. As a breeder you are responsible for every life you bring into the world and also responsible for rescuing ones that need rescuing. Whether you do the rescuing yourself or send it to someone who will do the rescuing(assist feeding) for you. How can you be ok with one but not the other. Either way transparency about an animals feeding habits should be disclosed such that buyers looking to breed can make the best choice for their own breeding stock. I think in the future, perhaps a title, "Why I don't force feed" would be a better alternative than authoritatively telling other people "stop force feeding" this way it simply tells people your stance/personal preference and why and does not come off as a directed attack. Hope this helps 👍
I believe that you make yourself very clear in presenting these valid points. Thank you 😊
are they noisy?
When they want to be yes.
Ah, it seems ol' Dr. Smichdt failed his exam on natural selection. Protip: Don't inject yourself with boomslang venom.
That is a very good protip! Don’t inject yourself with any venom, especially boomslang venom haha

Keeping/breeding is not black or white, everyone finds the best way to male their animals thrive, and everyone has a right to an opinion and to consider other ways of keeping/breeding Keep doing your thing Damian 💪
Thank you! 😊
I agree...I would never force feed! I would come up with whatever different options for food and nutrition I could give them. Hopefully, I will never face this situation, but one never knows! I just would feel horrible to force feed an animal!

My newest baby girl just ate with me for the fifth time in a row. I'm so proud. She was already 20g when I got her. Breeder told me she takes her prey in a toilet paper roll, so that's how she does it. My others are subadults and will ravenously take from tongs. They only go off food a week or two before a shed.
Great video
Thanks :)
