the bass player and the drummer are the original band
no wonder English men drink all the time
Mama beating them drums 🎉
Yes, yes they do. Girls rock!
I am fan just discovered the Liverbirds Wow they sound Amazing! these ladybyrds got Soul! 👏👏 🐦
The Marathons did the original version of Peanut Butter in 1961. Check it out.
I had the pleasure to interview recently the rhythm section of Mary and Sylvia on my channel. Great fun and some fascinating stories about The Beatles, Jim Hendrix, the Stones and Chuck Berry 😎
Для школьных вечеринок вполне сойдет.
Fantastic!! ❤🎶
I just bought the LIVERBIRDS 29 song CD set
Love you ladies
LOVE THE LIVERBIRDS! LOVE LIVERPOOL! lm
This are the prove, John Lennon was Final completely wrong "GIRLS CAN PLAY GUITARS!!!!!! and how!!
And his mother gave him the first music lessons.
I would love to see Mary and Sylvia in conversation with and playing instruments with Paul and Ringo. That would be stellar!
I want a Liverbirds tee shirt!
Awesome.
Bet Kurt Cobain would have loved them. Being into The Beatles and bein a feminist.
John lennon got shat on
Who's here from the 'Almost Famous' video? What a great little documentary!! ...and I had heard of them!!
I just heard about this band. I'm obsessed with this song. I'm going topla it with my grandsons.
They must be so sick of playing “🥜 🧈.”
Yeah! Bang that drum! This is awesome.
Strange how the bassist and the drummer are still alive...just like another band we all know.
That Ringo's a bell? 😊
And that is why they faced somewhat success as live players, and then never did anything else and faded into obscurity, the Beatles meanwhile…..
Love this!!
she. had to play the drums... as her hands were too small for the guitar...
love their story. now i'm stuck with their music!
Yup, me too! Such a heartwarming story. Wonderful ladies.
Go Ladies! Just fantastic! 💕💕💕 from the USA!
God bless you, ladies.
Wow amazing the first all playing female band in the world in the 60's I had to watch this a few 3 times to convince myself I was not seeing things and then I was singing peanut butter for the rest of the day its frigging catchy song so watch out...lol
The drummer can still teach Ringo a thing or two !
You do know Ringo is one of the Greatest Drummers. He is so underrated. He never gets too fast or slow he is perfect. The Beatles are perfect the Greatest Band in History.
Flipping fantastic go girls
Sylvia still has that same energy. What a lovely person <3
They were NOT the first ever all female group Groups composed solely of women began to emerge with the advent of rock and roll. Among the earliest all-female rock bands to be signed to a record label were Goldie & the Gingerbreads, to Atlantic Records in 1964, The Pleasure Seekers with Suzi Quatro to Hideout Records in 1964 and Mercury Records in 1968, The Feminine Complex to Athena Records in 1968, and Fanny (who pioneered the all-female band sound in the early to mid-1970s) in 1969 when Mo Ostin signed them to Warner Bros. Records. There were also others, such as The Liverbirds (1962-1967), the Ace of Cups (1967), The Heart Beats (1968), and Ariel (1968-1970).
You just proved yourself wrong? From your discourse the Liverbirds were the FIRST. 1962 surely comes before 1964?
first BRITISH female ROCK band from 1662
Go Sylvia Go!
I'm a new fan ,,saw their story on you tube 😊
Me too ! Just did !
OK this is the play, wow after all their stuggles and hard work, and life getting in the way, it must be really wonderful for the two survivors to see a play about what they did all the way back when. So very cool, I'm their newest fan. Go ladies!!!!!!
A play, yeah I'm glad someone pointed it out. There's a vid where two of them, including the drummer (seen here?) talk about the experience. The singer looks but doesn't sound so much like the original. They died years ago due to drink and drugs.
@@therespectedlex9794 They died at the ages of 65 and 71. I'd say they earned the dignity of dying of old age, not from drinking and drugs.
@@jeffbosch1697 I didn't know that sorry. I thought the singer, she was despairing, into drugs, and didn't know what to do after the band stopped. Sounds a bit like me, without the drugs.
@@therespectedlex9794 In another Beatles parallel, like Pete Best she soldiered on, determined to make it as a musician. (I'm not an expert on the band, but anything Mersey related fascinates me, maybe because the first songs I remember hearing on the radio back in the mid sixties were Ferry Across the Mersey and Hello Goodbye, still two of my favorites.)
@@jeffbosch1697 Anything Mersey fascinates you? Have you ever been to Liverpool? It is notoriously crime ridden. It's Irishness and immigration seems to make it very agitating. It's people are amusing, and friendly but sometimes a bit silly, and even hostile. Mersey beat had a gentleness which isn't quite the same as Liverpool now, even the accent and how people talk. I sometimes wonder if there's anything else to it.
Like many other bands at that time they also had a crooked manager who drove this talented band to the wall
Not true
Looks like Sylvia have tried to play at the original speed - and I'm sure she still can keep it up. Oh, how I wish to buy the DVD with this musical...
How much you wanna bet the young girl in the middle of the backup singers is a daughter or granddaughter of the drummer. Anyone know who she is related to in the band. and damn... Grandma can still play the shit out of those drums! She can still keep the beat steady after all these years. Wow.
She appears to be the stage version of Sylvia Saunders: Sarah Workman. You owe us all your money.
Ah, rock on, girls....wish I could have been there....
The Drummer is a beast (in a complimentary way)!
Been playing the same beat in every song now for 50 years.
As long as it's in time, it doesn't matter. I'm a drummer. @@webwillie1
Them old birds can still flat out rock!
wait I read 2 of them died years ago, so when was this??
Only two of them are the original members. The drums and the lady in the bass. They are the ones who did a little bow at the end.
I always digged the drummer!
they still play amazing for being in the 70s
They should have a little exhibit at the Rock Hall of Fame about these chicks. Truly, literally pioneers of Rock and Roll. So happy for their long-overdue recognition!
I like peanut butter, but that's ridiculous.
Almost famous
yall should search liverbird first they perform with jimi hendrix beatles
Never opened for the Beatles but did for Hendrix
Seems John was right
Kim Linton seems you’re an idiot and very very wrong.
ok boomer
@@wilfredoanunezpacheco5367 yeah cause they totally played hits. Not!
Ok boomer. It's a bop
@@cryforme7488 English? Please.
I saw this show last night it was fantastic and when they brought the two surviving members on at the end it made the night.
