how do i program a custom welcome message

Are there special wires you’re providing power to get the “unknown driver” message to display at key cycle? I have a spare cluster that has the steering wheel controls that is not showing anything besides odometer after powering up using the standard 3 12v wires and 2 GND wires. Perhaps 12v to the orange?

so if my screen is white it means it’s never gonna work again? i got a cluster and the glass is cracked and has that white spot on it. i can just swap mine out to the one i got correct?

BULLSHIT!!!!!!! These things can’t be repaired. I followed the instructions to a T and once I got the old element out neither the new or old one would slide back in to fit the brackets. Ended up trashing the stove and bought a more reliable brand like GE

How do you reset the the whole estimate cluster with the needles on their mine are all wacky now that I'd fix that I fixed it like you did now I can't get them to go anywhere or work right

For your 98 century, to get the cluster out: Use a plastic clips fork tool to remove 3 plastic black plugs under the drivers side dash like by the courtesy light. Remove that panel. Use a Philips screw driver to remove several bottom screws at bottom edge of dash. Pull backwards to remove ashtray trim. Also drivers side knee cover. Remove passenger side dash end cap by pulling away. Remove screw now revealed. Carefully put off dash trim cover all the way off working Accross, using both hands-Place shifter in 1 and tilt steering wheel down. When reinstalling, place scotch tape over metal clips nose to reduce their grip to help avoid aged plastic breaking upon next time. Never work with plastic is freezing cold-brittle. Remove 4 screws to remove cluster, unplug single plug at top by squeezing release lever and wiggling and prying plug out of hole. On table, remove back side cover from cluster releasing fingers. Pry pull wiggle circuit board up, it slides off metal posts, no clips. Flip board over to see resistors. I got my new resistors on AliExpress but has to get 50! Just $4 though. Take care

This was very helpful. I figured out how to bench test it by your video but could not get a bench test of interior light bulbs via connector pins. Anyone know what pin need to be hooked up to get those tested as well.

Is it at all possible to do an in-circuit reflash by using the ICSP header on my TL866II+? Or do I have to use your Arduino programmer? All that comes up (when I do an online search) is your series of videos on this subject. Edit: To be frank, your documentation sucks. I ended up desoldering the eeprom from the parts cluster and "brute forcing" various ST Micro 256 bit EEPROM models in the XGPro software until I figured out it's a M95256 chip. Once I got the pinout from the applicable data sheet, I was able to figure out which pin does what. NOW your video is useful with figuring out how to get the ICSP stuff hooked up.

clicked on the link, downloaded, unzipped, installed, opened up, 5 different programs from 10 different sites, spent the past 7 days trying to get something to read the eeprom chip, still stuck after watching hundreds of videos and other resources. Going to take the laptop the eeprom reader and the chip to a professional that I will gladly pay $500 to get this to work.

How can you tell which cluster supports steering wheel controls? I swapped mine out with a lower trim cluster and now they don’t work. Is there someway to Identify a cluster that does and doesn’t have the option? Thank you

Is there a way to test a 99 cluster panel to see if it's the panel? I replaced it with another one that worked that one didn't work either. Had the ground sanded down on the chassis. Someone said that might be it. After they did that I get a hum noise when I hit about 40 mph still no speedometer working. Gas gauge kind of works. The voltage and oil pressure gauge work

If there anyways to replace the two small displays? The gear indicator and the mileage? Mine got water damage and don’t work anymore.
