Просмотров 539 месяцев назад
This is a follow-up to the first video I made about how to prevent wrist pain while gaming. In the first video, I was currently in pain and talked about the type of pain I was experiencing and how also what caused my wrists to get to that point. In this update, I talk about my wrist condition and the types of wrist braces I currently use. I hope this helps, thanks for watching. watch pt.1 here ...

here's the link to the wrist brace that I bought on Amazon. they are very affordable so you might as well get 2 like I did. amzn.to/4aVrHSL watch pt.2 here ruclips.net/video/2MnmGxm_mPg/видео.html
I had wrist issue years ago, i just fixed it by playing 2-3 hours a day maximum. Our hands are not made to play video games all day ( off course u can train the tendons muscles) but its still my point.
Excellent point. We should listen to the warnings from our body.
Great videos, do you still use the "towel controller attachment hack" for your pinky numbness issue?
No, I don't use the towel anymore because I trained myself a long time ago to not grip the controller tight with the pinky.
thank you for sharing
My bro patted his on controller
Thank you for these videos i’ve been noticing pain on the right side of my wrist and up the right side of my hand for a little while now i’m gonna get a wrist brace for sure, one question i have is would you say even if you don’t have big hands that the hard brace would not get in the way of holding the controller?
No matter what, the brace will make contact with the bottom of the controller handles. It was never bad enough for me that it worsened my gameplay but if you have smaller hands, I would assume if you adjust the straps tighter, it should be ok. If I were you I would order 1 to try the fit before buying a second. If you try it, please return and share how it fits with others please. Thanks.
Here is an updated video on what brace I'm using now in 2024 ruclips.net/video/2MnmGxm_mPg/видео.html
Hey man. My hand started killing me since ff7 rebirth. plus my worok from home office job and mousing all day i been getting wrist and hadn pain. i saw this video is 6 years old. How are you doing now? do you still wear the wrist brace?
I still wear a wrist brace for gaming and when using a mouse. I will make an update video very soon to follow up on what brace I use currently.
@donperion5000 is it safe fam? I saw videos saying it can lead to atrophy of muscles. But you been doing it for 6 years and no issues?
@@matthewbonner100 If your asking if it's safe to wear a wrist brace for gaming, then my personal answer is yes. I don't game for more than 2hrs at a time. I would assume it would have a bad effect if someone was wearing it all day or something.
@@matthewbonner100 just uploaded an updated video.
Goddamn Ai art is fuckin wild... people cN make youtube poop and have it fully illustrated by feeding their damn script I to the prompt.
I’m 37, and I get this too. Really bad wrist pain. Interestingly enough, it’s only the xbox one/ series controller that causes the pain. PS4 controller I can play for hours though, so I do think part of the design of the Xbox controller is a problem. There’s too much over extension of the thumbs. I’ll definitely have to try this method.
An overall thing that has helped me personally is NOT playing first person shooters anymore. I just got tired of them because I was never good enough lol. So, the intensity of any controller usage matters a lot. Sticking to single player games made a difference. I'm not saying y'all should quit shooters, just saying to be aware of your pressure and grip on the controller.
@@donperion5000 That’s a good point. Most of my games are single player, but unfortunately for old wristy, they’re all fast paced third person or first person shooters like Doom Eternal or RE6.
1:00 lmao im 35 and playing battlefield 4 atm because they dhut down bfbc2
Same problem here, I'm 34 and since a couple of months my left wrist hurts like hell.. I'm gonna try the towel but I've a elite controller so it's kinda hard 😅 Back in the day I loved the OG xbox classic controller, I'm considering to buy it again 😂
Hey man great info. I am 35,about to be 36, and about a month ago my wrist and hand started hurting in exactly the ways you described. Took a minute to come to the conclusion you did but hadn't found any good way of dealing with it until your video. Thank you.
Dude thank you very much for this!
Genius solution. I’ve tried padded tape on the controller, foam etc. Okay but sticky AF if removed. This is brilliant!
Thank you so much for this video! I have tiny hands but am experiencing the exact same pain, especially what you described with your pinky. Because I also hold my phone with my left and put pressure on that same pinky, it’s particularly painful on that side. I am going to try your idea for opening up the palm when holding the controller!
please upload bro u got so much potential
People angle their controllers down? Lol There's your problem right there. Would have never crossed my mind that it's a suitable position.
Some people become aware of bad habits quicker than others.
#200
do you still use the towel or have you found a diff solution? This video so far has been very helpful so far ive fixed the first issue of the video but today i felt the second issue with the pinky very badly the nerve felt all the way up my shoulder so I def want to look into the pinky issue
I actually still use the 2 wrist guards when I play. I dont need the towel under the controller anymore because im used to avoiding clenching the controller. Using the wrist guards and not pressing buttons too hard has stopped my pain for a few years now.
@@donperion5000 thanks for the quick reply this gives me hope it'll go away
@@donperion5000 man you're amazing thanks
I don't hold a controller like that but is it bad if u have your wrist up
It’s just the XBox control man,I never had a problem until I got the series X for the meantime..I am a PlayStation guy lol
Iv had it from the PS4 controller, the R2 button really dose the wrists in it’s to tuff should be softer.
Hey gamers, I recently started looking into wrist exercises and I just want to share one that helps. There are a ton of videos out there with different exercises so start searching for what routines work for you. The doctor in this video that im going share has an interest in gaming so this is a good direction to start in if your looking for ways to prevent pain. This video may not address your particular issue but its a great start ruclips.net/video/wYGfDCGrJ4A/видео.html
Have any advice for someone with Tendonitis? I have pain in my fingers, especially in my index and middle fingers that goes all the way down to my forearms. I done been tested for CTS and my test was normal.
Im definitely not qualified to give expert advice lol, but recently I searched youtube for carpal tunnel exercises. I do the wrist stretches before I start gaming and sometimes during and I feel like it helps alot to prevent the pain or tingling feeling a bit. Heres one of the videos that was helpful for me ruclips.net/video/FoKUWlKK_Vc/видео.html
Good video
I know it sound stupid but I just change position and my pain went away
Hey, whatever gets rid of the pain!
Thanks for this man, really. The 2xp warzone event crippled me and I was depressed I'd have to give it up before Cyberpunk2077 dropped! Gonna try this on my ps4 controller
I cant waaait for CyberPunk! Btw, I still use the both wrist guards to prevent bad wrist angles. I don't use the cloth under the controller anymore though because ive learned how to avoid clenching the controller.
lol why doesn’t this video have more views when he’s clearly a genius ?
Who the hell holds a controller like that 🤣😂 Thanks for the advice tho mans gonna cop one I’m subbing I hope you get more subs as well
I have a brace but the problem is I’m afraid that it gets too tight and it’ll stop the blood circulation and it’s also gives me red spots in my hand which made me nervous
Just make sure it's snug enough to support your wrist to the point you feel stabalized. After a long session I have marks on my hand too but if you have any brace or wrap that will happen. If your worried about circulation then im assuming you are wrapping too tight.
donald lawrence alright thanks
I have wrist pain like once every couple of months then it goes away
Im only 14 and im have extreme wrist pain and this helping a lot. thanks!
Glad to hear that your on your road to improvement!
I play with my feet when my wrist hurt
🤣
🤣😂
Man u just helped me out I was here playing apex fam and I started developing a bad habit of holding my controller(ps4) with too much strength and after doing this I can strafe fast like before this wrist pain appareaned thank u man like fr
I know what you mean. It took a long time for me to train myself to stop using to much force on the controller. Since I lightened up on the grip, I can play everyday w/o pain. Keep those 🎮 hands healthy lol
I will try this for sure thank you so much!
Just found this... pls reply... did your pain start in your tendons in your thumbs then to the wrists. I don’t know if I have carpal tunnel on both arms, but I feel like it is unlikely because I play controller. Plz help
My pain was a combination of thumb and wrist pain. I dont know if I could call it carpal tunnel but pay close attention to all of your hand activity while using the controller so you can get better at preventing pain. BTW, I still use the wrist braces till this day when playing FPS games because those games are the most strain on my hands because of the intensity.
Wow. Thank you. Really appreciate it. Im going to definitely try this, pretty bum out, about playing with pain. Looking up some tips to change that. Keep on playing.
Thanks for the tip cuz I love to play games and I just got carpal tunnel surgery
Problem is that I use a scuf controller so I need to use paddles in the back.. but I need to do something cus my little finger and that side of the palm is really bothering me. I’m also 35 too. They really need to change the controller designs
I'm an Xbox One gamer and I play a lot of first-person shooters and after my session both of my front fingers feels like they were cut by razor blades for some reason I never had this issue with PS4 or Nintendo switch or PC
We are all different and it seems like everyone has pain with all types of controllers but the one thing that we all have in common is getting older. At some point at certain ages whether its in our 20s or 30s, pain start kicking in from controllers and keyboards. Pay close attention to what triggers your pain. Maybe you should get a cotroller with paddles on the bottom to reassign some buttons. My thumbs were sore from playing FPS games and adding paddles to the bottom of my controller was perfect.
@@donperion5000 that's just it I'm only 13 I shouldn't have so much pain in my fingers after a three-hour game session
@@lukenicholas6507 In my opinion, playing Fps is the most intense types of games and are the only ones that I've experienced pain from. Fps games take so much concentration that you could be pressing buttons harder than you should or holding the controller in bad positions for long periods or time without even realizing it. 3 hours playing Fps is way harder on your hands than playing 3 hours of something slow like Skyrim. If you play everyday, you might need to take a break until you're hands completely heal, then come back but paying really close attention to your button presses and controller holding positions. Get yourself right because 2020 is gonna be 🔥 with the new games and consoles lol.
I think this comes from pressing the buttons too hard, too. I developed terrible pain in both arms after playing DBFZ for 12 hours straight and the D-Pad on the Xbox controller was hurting my thumb from the grip and pressure.
Yeah your right, I had to train myself to not press any buttons too hard, especially the thumb sticks because it would always give me sore thumbs and sometimes wrist pain. Thumb pain sucks though because you lose alot of strength with your hand. But damn bro, 12hrs is a long stretch, I don't know if anyone can go that looking without some pain after lol.
Thank you so much . I’m going to try this I’ve been having wrist pain for almost a year and recently my left wrist started hurting too
In time you'll train yourself to use correct positions and you wont need any support. But take it easy so you can heal up though 👌
Who forces thire arm down while gaming that herts and I don't do that.
Everyone is different and everyone develops bad habits. Luckily you didnt.
It's my thumb that is hurting. I'm an intense gamer and I need help with my thumbs.
I know the feeling. my thumbs used to get sore after playing FPS games after about an hour straight. What triggered the pain for me was when I would press down on the left thumbstick to run. Over time I think I got used to not pressing so hard. I think the key to gaming pain-free is to keep your wrists and hands in good positions and not to be intense with button presses over a long session. Its a basic response but I've trained myself to play correctly w/o any gear and I have no pain so just pay attention to what triggers your pain and reverse it if that makes sense.
@@donperion5000 thanks man, this really helped! I hope you have a good week!
@@donperion5000 also you deserve a million subscribers
@@Abd-ku3fo a million subscribers, imagine that. That would be a sweet check lol. Game safe out there!
i strained recently
Welcome to the CLUB lol. We gotta be gamers 4 life so I hope you figure out how to avoid the pain, it's very possible. Until you figure out what positions with your wrists or fingers cause the pain, you should probably avoid long sessions over 1hr. good luck.
I thought it was just me but I was playing the game I almost quit the game because it hurt so bad but the thing is it only happenes with my Xbox one controller but it never happenes with my ps4 controller
Yup Xbox controller are dog Ps4>xbox
lil ggs No it’s because the controllers have different grips
I play PS4 and I have it really bad right now. I think it depends on the position you’re holding the controller in and for how long.
Just shows how little effort @Playstation and @Xbox are putting in to the ergonomics of their £50 controllers, pretty shocking really
Thomas Rogers it doesn’t happen with my ps4 controller it’s only my Xbox one controller Matter of fact even when I used to play 360 and ps3 it never happened
@@teejaytv3821 happens with my ps4 controller
Think is my pain is in the tendon in the middle of my arm
You are so awesome. Thank you so much I was having unbearable pain dude
Nice tips, cheers. I have just come down with the same problem :/ How long did you take a break from playing before going back to it ?
I think I had to stop playing for about 2weeks straight for the pain to go away when I was at my worst. I was so damn sad lol. Pay attention to yourself after every time you play so you can learn what things cause the pain.
I feel like this would be pretty uncomfortable though wouldn't it? There has to be another way
It takes time to get used to it. After awhile, you'll train yourself to keep your wrists straight without braces. I don't use braces anymore and I don't have pain because I don't do the positions that caused the pain like I used to.
