So after recording, an associate at men's warehouse said my neck size was 16.5? Maybe my neck size is bigger than 15.5..
Jacoje 4mm Rope vs 3.5mm Franco
Просмотров 23 тыс.2 года назад
Clarification - I think the 4mm Rope 2 chains betters as the bigger chain where as the 3.5mm Franco dominates the scene (in the current setup that I showcase). I think Franco’s are great 2 chain options, especially when the Franco is the smaller chain. Note - I went back with the calipers to measure different parts of the chain and consistently observed 4mm. Not sure if this is with every batch...
That’s weak
You show some really good shots of the chains
Haha crazy. I have that same watch. My shit is all banged up though. I need to take it and get a refinishing on it.
That heavy link and Franco together looks clean af I’m thinking about getting a Franco myself
Thinking about getting a 2.5 Franco how do you feel about the diff between 2.5 and 3 I already had a 3.2 heavy link and wanted to two chain them
get 3mm if you are used to the 3.2mm heavy link
Where did you sell your other chains? I might sell mine to get this.
@@ganny61 eBay, they take 15% though which isn’t fun
Very nice detailed review! I've had 5 different Francos from 1.2mm up to 5mm, all DC. All of them pulled my hair & got caught up on my clothes. I'm considering a 3.5 - 4mm plain Franco to pair with my 18K 3.2mm Heavy Link, so the larger size will balance out with the killer shine of the smaller Heavy Link.
Nice review again! It’s nice seeing the 3mm Franco and 3.2mm Heavy side by side as those are two of my favourite chains available. I’m still leaning towards the heavy link, but I really appreciate the fact that you’re one of the only reviewers I’ve seen that shoots in 1440p/4K, and it’s made me appreciate the Franco even more. Do you have any thoughts on the Cable Link from Lynx Resale (jacoje’s other company)? A 4mm cable is in a similar weight/cost ballpark and makes me wonder if I’d prefer thicker, gappy links over a thinner, tighter chain (I doubt it, but curious). Also what’s your height/weight? Thanks again :)
Idk I feel like the color difference isn’t noticeable between plain & dc Franco. Even when you put the 14k & 18k up close, the difference was very subtle. I still think dc is much better than plain
Both look really good. Appreciate the review.
great review! welcome back 😎😎😎
Hello. I'm looking forward for your next reviews. Do you think it will pair well a heavy link 3.2 mm with the 3 mm Franco instead of 2.5 mm? I plan to buy the Franco 22 inch 3mm with standard Angel pendant paired with 20 inch, 3.2mm heavy link. I have the same neck size as you. I really appreciate your opinion. Thanks.
Glad to hear it! I just posted another that might help. I think the DC Franco will pair very well with the heavy link, at the same length or at different lengths. If it’s the plain Franco, I think it would look good since you’ll have different lengths. It also gives some variation to the type of chains you’ll have on.
@@cksdigest plain version it's my go to.I'd like something subtle, diamond cut is to sparkly for me.
This is a great video. I like how in depth it is.
Thank you!!
Oh I'm dying for this to be back in stock
I got my 3.5mm Jacoje DC franco and when I use my Calipers it says its 4mm. It even comes out a bit bigger if your not at the narrowest part. About 4.1 like you showed. The peaks of the diamond cut will measure 4.1 and if I get it on the flat parts its 4mm.
You have a video of you showing or unboxing the 3.5MM Franco? Still have that Franco?
Unfortunately not for either! I miss that chain some days
@3:11 the way you describe the light movement on the Diamond cuts is absolutely on point! 💯 🎯 Great way to explain, as I have found NOBODY this far to explain it in that manner! 👍🏼
Thank you so much and I’m glad you agree!!
Out of the 18-20 gold chains I've had, my 18K 3.2mm Jacoje Heavy Link is my favorite & the only chain I have now. This includes chains ranging in size & purity all the way up to 5mm Franco & Heavy Link, & 24K Dragon Scale chains. When it comes to light refraction there's no comparison IMHO.
It’s the shiniest chain I’ve ever experienced
I have the same size & karat heavy link in 24" also 3mm d/c franco 18k I wear the heavy link more but the franco is sweet
Solid review. I recently purchased the 6mm power link in 18k. it's a beast. The links are so well casted and the diamond cut definitely has that crazy shine you're talking about. The only aspect that I am not completely satisfied with is the brightness of the gold. I have other chains and bracelets from different brands in the same link style, karat, and they are very bright vibrant yellow, what 18k looks like, as yours looks like at 2:00. Mine looks more like 14k, slightly muted in color. Lighting also definitely maters as well to bring out the brightness of the gold. I'm debating wearing a pendant on it. Overall I'm still very happy with my purchase.
I bet the 6mm is incredible, with our without a pendant! Yeah that’s what I’m discovering with highly polished flat edge chains, they reflect so much light. Makes me wonder if the same applies to the baby curb.
Great review you touched on all of my concerns 👍🏾
Great review! 👍
Hows the presence of the chain in person?
Such a boss chain 🔥🔥 doesnt need to be bigger to make a statement with the heavy link
After couple years now of having your Jacoje chains ⛓️💥 have they tarnished or faded off???
Awesome review. Have you already sold the watch ? If not I’d love to buy it from you. I regret not buying this piece while it was still on the market.
I’m looking forward to the 18kt 3mm Franco video coming out, been checking to see if it released yet!
Just posted! Sorry for the long wait, ran into all sorts of editing issues
Great video. Although, the rope chain is actually one of the strongest round-linked design. It likely broke due to the links being hollow and not solid or the welds were inadequate.
If you want to keep the heavy link chain shiny and without scratches I wouldn't 2 chain especially with higher purity gold.
Great camera work, thanks for sharing
I just wanted to say I love your videos man. Very informative man. I like the 18k chains you have especially the Franco’s. I think if you keep doing these videos it’ll attract more people
Thank you!!
I have 3 Franco’s 2 18k & one 22k. Franco is king even after watching. It holds the color & shine so much better than everything I seen
You have the beginnings of a great channel.
Thank you bro, comments like this are extremely motivating
Great fit on you!
sexi watch
I have a 18kt 3mm Franco from Hawaiiropechains, the color is unreal!
It’s perfect!
I got rid of my 4mm Franco because I felt like it was too much for me as a daily wear. Somehow I ended up two chaining 3.5mm Franco’s 😂
Hahaha I hear that, I could def two chain 3mm Franco’s
How’s it too much? That’s perfect size.
@@BlackPanther1SS I had a 4mm 24” and I just couldn’t wear it often comfortably. I feel the 3.5mm @ 20” is perfect for me 🙏🏼
@@itsjustiz 24in is too big bro lol
Two chaining 3.5 franco is like 80g around your neck? That's comfortable in all everyday situations? Asking because I'm interested in Two chaining a 3mm franco and a 3.5 franco that i rarely take off just not sure of the total weight of them and with returns not being easy i don't want to make a mistake going with the 3.5 when I could Two chain 3mm franco and I know weight wouldn't be a issue, just interested in the 3.5 because the size of it allows to appreciate the design of the franco, happy with the 3mm but it was smaller than I expected but good enough
This is perhaps the best review I’ve seen of this chain. Very objective and clear statements with good b roll. You touched on a lot of good points and reasons that I like this chain over other options and demonstrated it well, particularly with how this chain “flashes” while other chains like ropes “twinkle”. I’d totally watch comparisons to other pieces you have :)
Thank you man, I appreciate it. I’m particular with my stuff so it’s good to know I’m not the only one walking around thinking about chains lol. Twinkle versus flash!! You summed it up perfectly, if I use that in future videos I’ll credit you. Def stay tuned, will have some more coming out
@@cksdigest No problem! You're definitely not alone! For me, I bought my first gold item last year (a ring) and since then I've been wanting matching pieces. I looked at a ton of options, and decided that despite the cost, I'd love a solid piece that will last a lifetime (hopefully). I'm usually very frugal, so to "earn" the necklace, I'm using it as my reward if I start going to the gym and go at least 3 times per week until the end of the year. The heavy link just caught my eye in a way that ropes and other chains simply can't, and now I think about it every time I work out haha. It just the right amount of flashiness without looking tacky, and this video is really helping to sell me on it further (especially with the HD video quality).
@@justblayne4533glad to hear it! That’s a great perspective, to earn it. So when I had this chain, I wore it in the gym a few times and those were the moments where I didn’t want to sell it. It was tucked in but popped so much…it was so noticeable. Very enjoyable.
Your reviews are really good. The one with the rope and Franco comparison had perfect info. I have this 3.2 in WG and you’re right about the presence even when tucked it. It’s a really cool chain imo
Thank you! I’m trying to get better at providing both the data and b rolls to support. I’ve considered the WG variant, the heavy link might look the best in WG
@@cksdigest I’ve had the heavy gold in yellow and because of that major shine and presence on the flat surfaces, it felt super loud for my particular taste for a daily wear. I haven’t taken my WG since I got it. Just waiting for him to send me a boss cross to match.
@@el_heff4272that will look 🔥 WG is so noticeable yet sleek and reserved, you have the right idea
Nice chain
Bro I got a 3 18k Franco from jacojie and a 4m dc for saints gold 18k. Both look exactly the same. How much darker is 18k than 14? It feel almost similar with these chains. I don’t notice much until 22k. I also have a 22k Franco. Check my channel out
Will do, nice setup too. 18k at least for Franco was a big difference for me but it’s hard to tell with the diamond cuts refracting so much light. It’s more apparent with the plain. I’ve never had the 18k rope but Braden says it’s not much different
The both look really good! What’s the length? We’re about the same build except I’m about 168lbs. I’m thinking of buying 18k 3.5mm Franco in 20 inch and add a standard sized pendant as my daily solitaire chain. Do you also know the difference between diamond cut and plain? I appreciate the review
They were both 22”, that sounds like a good set up. The dc is pretty sparkly while the plain has a shine similar to the Miami Cuban. I love the way the plain showcases 18k, I have a 3mm plain now
up load more bro
Just posted a review of the 3.2 heavy link!
5mm DC 18k 26” Franco (Jacoje) all day every day (and night). Mine is currently in the mail. 🇨🇦 This video just making me itch even more! I pawned my every day a couple years ago and have regretted it ever since. 😒 It’s been important for me to get THE perfect chain as I plan to wear this for pretty much the rest of my life. Weird I know. 🥳 It’s a personal thing. Appreciate the vid. 🤘
Glad you enjoyed it, it’s important to find the perfect chain and wear it everyday. The bond grows stronger as the years pass 🙌🏼
I actually see fewer rope chains than anything else. Everyone has cubans these days - white (I can tell most of them are silver too lol) and yellow - and miscellaneous other links. I don’t see too too many ropes, at least where I’m from, which was my big draw to the 3mm rope. But totally agreed, don’t see too many Francos either
That’s a good point, it depends on the location and access to different chain styles
if you make the rope a 18” or 20” it will look better when you 2chain it
Great info !!!
Nice two chain set! Sorry for the long post 😀 My two last chains were 18KT…2mm d/c Franco and 4mm Miami Cuban. I’ve always had 14KT before that (all white gold). I just received a 3.5mm 14KT 22” WG plain Franco 46.3g and thinking about exchanging it for same specs in 18KT - 55.5g. The difference is just under $800 outlay. I am still within the return window, so no worries there. There’s not much difference in the look of 14 vs. 18KT WG IMO, but I like higher purity and added weight of 18KT. This is a daily wear chain (never take it off). Thoughts? My other dilemma is 20 or 22”. I’ve always had 20” chains and decided on 22” for this one. The 22” chain has about a 1” drop compared to 20”. The 3.5mm plain Franco is a thicker chain so need to take that into consideration. FWIW, I am 6’0”, ~163lbs, ~15.5” neck size. I’ve had thicker chains…4mm plain Franco, 4, 6 and 7mm Miami Cubans and felt like they didn’t lay right or perfect on my neck and frame. The 22” with the ~ 1” drop should do the
Nice! That’s a sweet chain. So it’s hard for me to say because I haven’t handled 14 & 18K WG at the same time to compare. I’ve heard that 18K WG can be slightly “grey” in comparison to 14K, which seems logical given the increased percentage of rich yellow color. If such was true, I would want 14K (I like 18K YG bc of the color). However, if you’ve had the two and feel that such isn’t true and that the additional weight or prestige of owning 18K is better, I would def say go for it. You want to wear something you’re proud of. I’ve seen examples of yellow peering through on 18K WG rings but rings are more exposed than chains, so I’m not how it will wear over time. For length…I struggle with that too. The 20” looks short and circular while the 22” is slightly long. 21” is probably perfect but not really an option. With your height, either of the two lengths will look great. The 3.5mm Franco is also versatile, it should lay well at either length.
You are correct, 18KT WG is slightly grey compared to 14KT, which I prefer. I’ve had both and prefer the duller grey look of 18KT WG, in addition to the additional weight (~+9g) and prestige. I only do WG jewelry anyways, so I can’t comment on YG 😊 I can afford to pay the difference for the 18KT chain, so might as well go for it. I’d most likely regret not doing the exchange. It would cost me more in the long run if I was to keep, then sell the 14KT chain and buy the 18KT chain later. Same with me for the 20” length: it looks kind of short and circular/rounded on my neck and build, especially with thicker chains. The extra 2” length with the ~1” drop should do the trick.
@@cksdigest I ended up exchanging 14KT for 18KT and stuck with the 22” length (almost a month ago). Absolutely no regrets. I like the added heft/weight of 18KT. I’ve had many chains and I love this one more than any other. The honeymoon has not worn off. 18KT WG hits different. And I prefer plain over diamond cut Franco.
Great video !! Do you think there is a big difference between 14k and 18k? Having a hard time deciding between the 2
For sure when it comes to YG. I love the 18K richness. I also wear steel and some WG, the 18K YG provides a satisfying contrast
I’ve been debating between the 2 for a minute. Going 3.5 Franco all the way
The Rope in this video is the 5mm that Jacoje sells. The 4mm actually measures closer to 3.5mm.
How so? That rope weighed 28.5 grams, which is fairly close to what he sells now for the 4mm 14k 22”
@@cksdigest Braden said the 4mm rope comes in at around 3.7 so not sure why yours would be over 4? Maybe the calipers are a bit off. That would make sense bc the 3.5mm Franco is actually closer to 3.8 (not over 4mm)- in both cases ur chains are about .4mm thicker than they should be so I think the measuring instrument is slightly off.
@@cksdigest I appreciate the review otherwise btw, just ur measurements of the thickness threw me off a bit
@@chillwill120 thank you for the feedback. After some review…it’s possible they were off but I’m still not sure. The Franco was no slouch and I recall measuring the rope multiple times with a similar result, but that rope was also purchased in 2018. I’ll follow up if I can measure them again.
@@cksdigest It's totally possible that the manufacturer Brayden uses changed things up in the past 5 years (or maybe Brayden uses a new manufacturer). I purchased a 3mm rope from Brayden and found it way too small. I wanted to exchange it for a larger size and was trying to figure out if I should go with the 4mm or the 5mm. The one you have seems like a great size but just wanted to be sure it wasn't actually the 5mm (that comes in at slightly over 4 after diamond cuts). This is why I'm quibbling over a few 10ths of a mm, lol.
