It said multiple brutalites were commit by both sides and the powers commit war crimes, it's realistic in a sense of them also being evil, not in a tactically plausible way
The reality of war is not just about the morals or objective. It's for the horrors it brings; In short terms, people commit war crimes just for point of it.
