john would have killed tony at the end of civil war and you would defend him for it , the issue with steve rogers and the title he carried is that he was more than a good man he was not defined by circumstance he did the right thing even if it cost him , he gave up the shield gracefully because being captain america is not something he ne3eded to satisfy his own ego. John is a good soldier and his actions are justified in that sence but the idea of captain america goes beyond that, take for example how steve rogers becomes president in the comics for a time , its not because hes a good soldier that follows mandates but because his moral compass is impecable , those are big shoes to fill for anyone to follow, what makes sam a better alternative is that sam doesnt rush to violence , given that violence even if justified can give a bad look to the symbol you carry; and im not saying that sam is ideal , no one can replace steve hes a magical being made of perfection but he is preferable to walker

The cap kills montage isn’t exactly the same as a decapitation by walker . As cap didn’t plainly kill in most of your montage as in the first avengers film the brainwash team planned on taking Loki away and parashooting out reason they have backpacks. Then for the ship scenes again nobody is dead except the for the guys buffalo fireteam shoots later they show that batroc and his crew that wasn’t shot was jailed meaning cap just incapacitated them sure it look tough but these crumble and make groans they didn’t die. Same with civil war clips too. And hydra agents are planning to kill millions maybe billions of innocent people behind a computer program saying these people are gonna be threats to the new order so him killing them is A okay and isn’t brutal. Mainly the framing of walker kill is the problem he didn’t stop after killing the guy he decapitated his corpse on camera his shield wasn’t a clean cut but a repeated action until the head and neck which he crushed initially was separated. This is why it’s viewed bad imo as he obviously is unhinged which takes precedent in the scene where falcon ( Bucky unfortunately is written to be an ass here. ) try’s to calmly ask walker to hand over the shield . Which in that fight there’s multiple points walker is trying to kill the duo regardless of them being somewhat allies . Personally while I’m fine with walker killing a flag smasher he passed the threshold of being A okay. And finally let’s say Steve did killed those guys he obviously knocked out hard he never did something brutal unless it was to a hydra member but most of all he wasn’t unhinged with his actions leading to team needing him to stand down.

Walker didn’t soil the shield; he did what was necessary to achieve his objective of stopping the terrorists. Was it the best? No, but Jake, the terrorist, was an avid threat who could throw heavy things with enough force to kill someone; he’s a living weapon that can’t be disarmed. Jake the Terrorist tried to kill Walker and Lamar Hoskins just a scene ago and didn't surrender, “It wasn’t me!” That wasn't a surrender, and if Jake had the upper hand, I guarantee he would try to murder Walker again, reunite with Karli, and blow up more people and buildings. It’s unfortunate that Jake died, but he wasn't innocent; he kept fighting and would probably have grabbed a passerby for a human shield.

I find it so weird that Sam gave up the shield and then was so shocked that the shield-government property-is given to another appointed person to take up the role! It’s a weapon that the military designed to fight and serve as a symbol for people and it makes sense that-if it still useful-the shield gets passed off to another person. Steve gave you a chance to accept, but you said “no,” and the military decided to put it to good use in hard times after the Blip!

I really liked John in the show as he was the only one who actually went through a real character arc. Sam becoming Captain America was a really important point in the comics, yet it was handled poorly here, I like him as cap and hope he is redeemed in his upcoming movie. No one other than Steve is perfect as Captain America which I think is the point of Steve Rogers, literally no one else is like him, but Sam and Bucky make up his two halves, which is why they are the only real candidates for being Cap. But the MCU just said nah, John is actually way better and much more level-headed than those two, then proceeded to paint him as the bad guy, I wish they could redo the show and write Sam and Bucky better, they shouldn't be defending a terrorist who has killed many innocent people and an American Soldier, add multiple counts of attempted murder of many other people including Captain America at the time.

This show feels like it was written by people who don't know anything about the characters.

Walker does literally everything to try and keep the peace, and every time, he gets jumped. Then, when he finally actually fights back after his friend is killed right in front of him, he's black listed and called the villain of the situation even though he was fighting actual terrorists. Justified crashout.

What grates on me the most about Walker killing that dude in the street is this, what would Bucky have done, or Sam for the matter, if someone killed Steve? The idea that Sam is willing to try and talk Carly down, but not Walker, is asinine. Mr Soldier Councilor is apparently better at taking to teen girls than actual soldiers.

The show was basically the heroes are butthurt about not having the shield even though sam was the one who gave it away and the world bending to support their assholery against john. The sad thing is that the story beats could have absolutely worked with just changes to the character interactions.

What I find funny is that Kali wanted so much to make the government listen to her, but I bet if the government decided to listen to her, she wouldn't know what to say. throughout it would be that she did not present a single minimally viable solution to the problem that she denounced so much. at best she would just transfer the problem to another group of people. Not even Sam, who sympathized with her so much, was able to provide any solution when he was in a position to talk to the government, when they asked what they could do, Sam simply said "I don't know, come on in."
