Where did you find the torque specs for the 3 front bolts to the balance shaft support and the 2 rear? What are torque specs for the 2 rear bolts to the balance shaft support anyway? Lol. I can’t find this info anywhere.
i used this site. www.clarks-garage.com/. the owner passed but they keep the site up. once u hit the home page look for the entry "garage shop manual" on the left hand side and click that. this will open a page with a huge list of sections covering pretty much any repair u need to do on this car. the section i used for the balance shaft specs is under the "balance shaft" heading click the oil seal replacement link. towards the bottom of the page there are a series of links(depending on year) that state the torque values for your specific car.

I have the same 85/1 na as you. Did this repair hold up with no oil in the coolant reservoir? Did you keep the early 5R Housing?
not sure what u mean by 'hold up". maybe without leaking?.then yes it did. yeah i kept the original housing.
@@MsComagirl Glad to hear no leak! I cringe at the cost of a new retro OPRV but, I found oil in the coolant Reservoir and many forums are saying to replace the gaskets and seals first on the oil cooler. What do you think?
@@kho786 yeah i ended up forking out for the updated oprv ($300+). I had the original 3 piece unit. i replaced everything in mine because of "while ur in there" didnt feel like doing it all again. i would just replace it all if u can swing it its worth the piece of mind.its been solid ever since
@@MsComagirl What oil do you recommend? I just got the car repainted and I Have some oil leaks I think the front main seals and oil pan gasket.
idk oil is kinda of preference but, the mileage gear in mine(the one in the dash) was broken had to replace it so i don't know the actual miles on engine. I use any high mileage syn oil and replace one quart with a bottle of lucas oil additive(forgot the name of it) to get the oil up into the lifters stops any tapping. as far as the leaks if they aren't too bad then u could probably put in some stop leak as well don't know how long that would hold up though. replacing the oil pan gasket or front main seals is a process but doable.

my premise for "rambling " as u put it. is i assume u know nothing about the process. 99% of videos i see on this car assume knowledge of process. i also like to speak on my experience doing said task.main reason its done like this is none of the videos i see are "in car" meaning the engine is always removed. not everyone has the ability to remove the engine from the car. But thank you

Does your alignment tool fit tight or lose?
sorry just saw this. when your cooler is centered properly it should be loose. meaning no resistance putting in or when taking out the tool
Did you remove or loosen the exhaust manifold to remove the oil cooler?
hey whats up. i did have the exhaust headers removed when i did this video.i think can do this without taking off headers never tried. if you can i would just remove them makes it alot easier.
