Bikepacking in the Alberta's Foothills and Rockies
Riding the Old Porcupine’s Choice loop. After few set backs and was not able to complete the loop. End up riding 30kms in 3rd gear single speed though!
My main camera was still in for repair when we did this trip so i filmed it all on my iPhone. This vid is a bit more quick and dirty than usual because of that.

Bike Packing Over Nighter (Kananaskis, Alberta)
Просмотров 1,6 тыс.Год назад
Just a simple overnight on the gorge creek loop. A route I found on the “Ride with GPS” app. We rode through Bluerock and Sheep River Wildland Parks with a detour off the loop to Bluerock campground to make it an overnighter. A beautiful little loop and would recommend! Side note: I managed to lose my cable for my microphone on the first day, hence why the audio quality might be lacking. Entire...

The long lost episode 3. Filmed on the final 2 days of the 2020 season. The last days before the world changed. Truth be told, I’ve been sitting on this edit for quite some time now. I had big plans to make it into a bigger film for the next season after. But lets be honest, thats never going to happen at this point. So here it is. Finished, unfinished?, for some pre-season stoke. Skiers Oscars...
Vancouver Island Motorcycle Trip

Long over due video of a bunch of GoPro clips from our 2020 motorcycle trip. I did out much effort into ending this, I just wanted to have the video. This video was supposed to be a different kind of film, but mid trip I deleted and lost all the footage from my main camera. The accident ruined my mood to keep documenting the rest of the trip. I did however keep filming on my GoPro. And theres a...

BeachSideSki Ep.2 Blue River (season2)
Great working fighting through the mechanical adversity.
@@bikebikerides all things considered it was the best possible outcome for what happened. Also, thanks for the route!
@@morganwalter We had a guy on a group trip tear his derailleur off just past the summit of Lost Creek too but he also twisted his chain so not possible to singlespeed his bike. He had to "skateboard" all the way to Oldman campground. You're welcome! Fun to see all the videos of people challenging themselves on this route.
Hey Morgan. Looks like it was a blast of a time! Glad to see your diy bag holding up well. Shame about your derrailer. Ride on!
Thank you!
Thank God for friends and a way to get back. Looked like a memorable adventure. One to share for sure.
Hey Morgan. Like your enthusiasm in the face of adversity. May have to ride on solid rubber tires. 🤣🤣 Interesting Helmut you are wearing.
Hey, that's a very cool bag ! I've got an Ortlieb Quick Rack on the way and I was thinking of doing something similar after seeing your video. Only question is : what type of material and what dernier & grams/m^2 did you used ?
@@grininventor it was 600 Denier. Bought it from a local shop here in Calgary

Very cool bag, great job !
Well done! 🎉
“I learned a lot by doing this” that’s what it’s all about… I like bikepacking and have been teaching my self to sew, both with a machine and by hand. Awesome skill to learn and I’m enjoying the process.
Dont want to pay for Tailfin but wears Arcteryx jacket :)
Pro deals aren’t hard to get
Do you have a link to the rack? Nice work!
ortlieb.ca/collections/luggage-racks/products/quick-rack-black-f78104
Cool, but the point of the Tailfin rack is that it sits on the thru axle.
Not true. It can be mounted to rack mounts on the frame as well. The ortlieb rack can be mounted to a thru axle as well
nice save with the tire levers.
just use orlieb trunk bag rc
Kinda defeats the purpose of DIY
Hey Morgan, Thanks for sharing your awesome Idea! Your finished product looks great!
Beautiful, idea, the couple and nature!!! :D For YT algorithms, as I heard - it's needed to leave at least 9 words. I hope this will help to spread the word! Awesome content, keep it up!
Hello! is your bike a CUBE nuroad Pro?
Yes it is!
Love this, experimentation and making your own stuff is super fun. "Gen 1" of your tire lever attachment is super clever. Is there enough pressure to keep them from rotating over rougher terrain you think?
Plenty of pressure. And the notches really lock it in too
@@morganwalter Very cool, love the reuse of tools and creativity!
I wanted to build the same one, but I wasn't sure whats the best way to attach it to the rack. You nailed it! Very nice and easy mechanism, did you already test it on the trail?
Thanks! Yes I have and it’s been good so far. Been purposely beating it up trying to break it so I know it’s limits before I actually take it on a trip
Ehi man, very cool project. Well done, thanks for sharing such DIY esperience. Regards from Italy. Marco & Lucia
Awesome. can you tell me, where you got the fabric from? Especially the black one look like the material I'm searchin for month, and don't know what it is called... Looks roughly like the material, e.g. Eastpak is making their backpacks from...
Looks awesome man. Better than a genuine Tailfin one! 😅 love the style and colours.
Thanks so much for this, gonna make one in a months time.. Wanna try to make it large enough to fit my 13” laptop 😂
Lovely video, surprised you don't have more subscribers.
here, take my money!
Look awesome, you should be proud ! I've got the same rack from orlieb, you gave me some idea. Maybe you should use a light colour on the next one, dark colors attracts a lot of heat in summer. Thanks for sharing
Nice one. I was thinking of doing such a thing myself.. this helps immensely (for now I keep using my old heavy duty waterproof bag and a bungee cord :-)
Looks great, man!
looks great mate!
Super cool. Makes me want to learn how to sew
nice build, neat sawing. i've ripped off also a tailfin bag but made it a bit larger (my rack is also larger) and instead of sawing it I used cutouts of vinyl canvas (that I got for free at a truck cover store), and I glued them with cyanoacrylate. I made a semi-rigid bottom with coroplast, and to close it and attach it to the rack I used straps and buckles from an old bag. I only had to patch it a couple of times (with a small cut of vinyl and superglue) in a spot where it had been worn from rubbing with a part of the rack. It's already 5 years old and is still absolutely waterproof, you can even carry water on it. In summer, lined on the inside with roof insulation, makes an excellent beer cooler.
Where did you get the webbing from?
Theres a store here in calgary called PacCana
Slick 👍
fave make !!!!
What made you choose a "tailfin" bag instead of a seat tube bag? I have to choose one for my next adventure and I can't decide
Having a rack and a bag is far more versatile. And sturdy. Seat tubes do flop around a bit and they need to be packed full to really work. Personally I really like the ortlieb because it removes quickly. I use this bike for many things. Bike packing getting groceries, etc. if I need to I can even strap a milk crate or a package down to the back with some straps. You can’t do that with a seat tube.
HI Morgan, Nice video about a tail bag. Makes me want one now so I have to break out my mom's old sewing machine. If I make one too, I'll share my design with you. Thanks Dave.
Been going down this rabbit hole lately myself. Might consider a velcro system to attach the bag to the rack which would save some weight and simplify. Thanks for sharing!
I did consider a Velcro system, but there was a lot of “hows?” I asked myself. Mostly about how to make it ridged and not bounce.
pretty cool stuff! I would love to see how the fasteners hold up over time and rough terrain. Thanks for sharing!
Thank you. Yes, me as well. I’ve put quite a bit of weight in it and ridden my bike staircases multiple times. But overtime will be the test.
That’s pretty cool, mate. Well done!
yes i like the quick release.. i have quick release on my frame bag, i sewed on hoops/eyelets and folded the elastic twice to make tab droppers..
Great ideia! ❤
Nice work..
Really cool build, Props from Sweden!
another great make!!!
Thanks dude !
Dude this is so sick wtf
Thanks for the support Donny
Fun video, definitely gonna have to check this route out!!
You should!
Finally someone drinking matcha instead of coffee!!!
Nice project, man. Well done.
Dope
i really liked it , next one will be even better
Great job! I agree with the other comments that it is nice to see a realistic effort. Sewing tight corners with stiff material is not easy.
