How about Veteran's preference for Presidential candidates?

I served in the military for almost 10 years and the only reason I got a job is due to my degree. Do not enlist in the military and serve a nation who shoves its poor and middle class in harms way while the rich boys and girls are drinking and partying at ivy league schools. The rich boys and girls who decide whether you will get hired or not. Enough said.

Veterans Preference is like balls on the Pope. It's just there for decoration purposes.

I'm a veteran and Federal government employee. I have 5 points. However, it is FAR EASIER to enter the Federal service via a special hiring authority (VRA, VEOA, etc) because it opens up positions that otherwise would have been closed to you. I entered the DoD as a VRA applicant right after college. And as far as I know, the veterans point system was not used in my case.

Veteran's preference is going too far! If Albert Einstein and a disabled veteran is competing for a rocket scientist position at NASA, the disable veteran will get it as long as he is minimally qualified. This happens every day. It is so bad to our nation.

so a veteran without a disability who stands in line to be a forklift operator will take a back seat to a guy in a wheel chair. got it

My State has denied me my 10 points for an External Job posting. They said because I am a current employee it doesn't apply to me. I'm pretty sure that's illegal because it's an External Job posting(Open to the public)

I have claimed veterans preference and it has never helped me at all. I believe this is just bullshit.veterans preference is a myth

The truth is as soon as you claim veterans preference the job opening will be closed then re-opened until the hiring managers niece is the only applicant.

There was no mention of facial hair on men. It should stated that clean shaven or a trimmed beard rather than a long bushy (duck dynasty) style beard.

This is the biggest bunch of shit. The current va chief said himself "thank god we don't have to hire vets." Once you have a combat patch, you're fucked.

This doesn't happen, veteran preference is not observed nor does it have any oversight ensure it is even implemented. Call it what it really is, no preference is given to veterans over staff that has seniority or family members of that staff, it just doesn't happen.

people who serve this country and protect our livelyhood deserve everything especially of they have an honorable discharge

this is not how capitalism works. Fed jobs are cushy and pay too much. Jobs should go to the most qualified applicant anyway. this preference crap is the equivelant of wemon in the military being held to lower pt standards... it just makes companies weaker.
