    The whole system you've created with the velcro and elastic is so clever! I'm so glad I've been looking at cosplayer videos instead of wasting time and money by just jumping in the deep end. I'm hoping to make a Tech set for Star Wars Celebration next year. Do you have any other tips for newbie cosplayers?

      I made a pattern on the lekku with tape and then I sewed it with stretchy cotton fabric - I would much rather recommend non stretch fabric for that 😊

    Wow this turned out so good! Amazing job! I have a question; do you think I could make a lekku entirely out of clear latex, then airbrush paint it afterwards? Or would that make it stiff? Thank you!

    • @hanisscosplay
      @hanisscosplay 10 месяцев назад

      I've sadly never worked with airbrush before, but if you have an option to use some kind of flexible paint on it, i think it would stay much longer on the latex and it won't crack, so if there is a possibility for this kind of paint i would do this!

  • @DemonaDraku

    hi! i'm currently trying to make my own lekku, based on your video! :D I was wondering if you only put the baby powder on the latex at the times you show in the video or do you put it on in between EACH layer of latex? thank you!

    • @hanisscosplay
      @hanisscosplay 10 месяцев назад

      hey! i put it only in times that was shown on the video, althrough heard some people that did that in-between each layer. honestly, i do not know what would be the difference, but the point of using it is so the latex won't stick to itself nor the clay mold.

    Have you thought about just using the liquid latex to pour over it so it's all just smooth.

    • @hanisscosplay
      @hanisscosplay Год назад

      Unfortunately, this causes stains because of how thin the liquid is, so based on my first failed project - thickening and layering latex with a sponge made much smoother finish.

  • @fernandagz3567

    I really like how it turned out, the shape is perfect! I want to do my first cosplay this year and I want to Hera 💚 wasn’t it like too heavy on your head ?

    • @hanisscosplay
      @hanisscosplay Год назад

      Thank you! I am very happy of the shape too, but it turned out it wasn't as perfect as I first thought though :( The lekkus were made a bit too wide apart and even with the stuffing, they weren't holding as well as I predicted, so next time I will make them closer to each other so gravity doesn't ruin the look haha I don't remember how much that weighted, but yeah, I think I did a bit too much layers (I was scared of it not being strong enough) so I guess next time using a really thin net-like and stretchy fabric in between the layers will reduce the weight and strenghten up the structure. Good luck with your costume! 💜🥰

    Can u use normal acrylic paint fot it if u mix it with latex?

    • @hanisscosplay
      @hanisscosplay 2 года назад

      sure! i’ve seen people mix it, i just randomly bought pigment and it worked perfectly! i didn’t have to use a lot of paint to get the colour i wanted. but remember to first mix paint to the colour you want your lekku to be, and then mix it with latex!

    What did u do differently to the second lot of clay? What do u do so it doesn't crack?

    • @hanisscosplay
      @hanisscosplay 2 года назад

      i followed LoreCraft Lorebox tutorial (on YT) on this. you need to add not clay in between the cracks (like put clay into the cracks to fill them) without using water. basically i wouldn’t recommend using water (just when necessary for example to make it stick to itself when applying it to the base)
