random groove 2
I do this a lot lately - finding a groove, try to own it and make it your baseline.

muffled snare gets busy

Playing around with this thing for a while now. Enjoying the space between beats but also fill it up sometimes. #groove #drums #drumsolo #funk

sometimes you sit at the drums and a groove of sorts presents itself. You'll play around with it and explore and enjoy. #groove #funk #drums #drummer #berlin
grooving with the paradiddle
Просмотров 3195 месяцев назад
Do you know the book "exploring your creativity on the drumset" from the great mark guiliana? You play a pattern with one or two limbs and then improvise with the other. In my case the standard paradiddle pattern with hihat and snare and then improvising with the bassdrum. Fills and variations only on these three instruments,, which feels like a restriction at first, but is a very good practice...

Little improvisation over some groove, trying to let it flow. #groove #drums #improvisation
rough beat with space percussion
Просмотров 75Год назад
I recorded this simple beat and added a shaker and a small sfx cymbal. It sounded kind of boring, so I ran the percussion through some filters and compressed the drums hard. Hope you like it!
a little damping made my day

It's always astonishing, how you get other ideas when you change the sound of your instrument. In this case, I just threw on some of those muffle rings an snare on floortom. Try it!
backbeat vs sub divisions
Просмотров 89Год назад
I´m working on this from time to time: playing a backbeat on the snare while alternating the sub division with the right hand and foot. the backbeat holds everything in place, the alternating sub divisions create kind of an airy and incomprehensible feeling.
moderate funk groove

I like this one a lot. It can stand for itself, but would be also great to build some music on top of it. It's not to busy, so you can play around. What do you think?
groove with 90s synth
Просмотров 43Год назад
For a few weeks, I had this interesting groove with kind of a clave in the right hand. I tried it in several musical contexts, but it didn't seem to work. Finally I tried it with some 90s synth sounds, et voilá!
halftime shuffle in 5

I play this sort of groove in one of my projects and love the long distance between the backbeats - much space to fill or don't. Thanks for my buddies Kolja, Bert and Buchan for the handclap. That`s a wonderful restored Beverley mahogany from the 60`s with an old Premier snare with Sigu wood hoops.
Mr snare is way behind.

A little groove after a long day of making music and teaching. I love this old run down beverley from the 60s. The snare is a cheap trashy sonor. Not one of my favourites, but ok with my wallet on top. In the end, it's just about the player, not the instrument.
I have no idea what’s happening at 0:16 but i like it
😂
Fucking fire ass sound choice. Very tight and not overdone!
thank you!
Cool groove man 🙏
Work!
Sort of a Steve Gadd sound. Not bad.
can i add some keys to this and than send you it or put on my youtube :)
sure, let`s do it. but please send it to me before publishing
@@kitschgroove6320 i actually am not gonna

i like your groove
👍
Yum
Nice one.
that snare really does get busy! (source: i watched the video, which undoubtedly provides us with examples of said snare getting busy.)
Thanks!
Clean!! loved it, keep it up.
I will! Thanks
Nicely done 👍
thanks!
Love that bass drum sound just like a melodic voice complimenting your drumming the bass drum must have came from heaven
thanks man! just an old sonor teardrop :)
@1:28 - What is that 2-bar fill after the 1-bar of groove? Particularly the ride figure. The snare is 1.&a2.&a.e&.4e.a.e&a2e&.1.
let me get back to you. I have to transcribe it first :)
better late then never :) you'll find the transcription here (starting at the 1bar groove): share.mailbox.org/ajax/share/09a3369905c5fe6e92e44095c5fe473fbe227411151c70ba/1/8/ODU/ODUvNDk3
@@kitschgroove6320 Thanks! I will take a look this weekend and give a response. Again, thanks!!
Feels more like 3/4. Then there's the 2nd bar with the LH leading. Not the usual stuff I'm used to seeing which explains why I didn't get it initially. Thx
Nice groovin ,
Love the timings🤩
niiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiceeee
Really good feel, groove, and fills
thank you!
A graveyard? that's pretty cool. I bet the rent is dirt cheap, ba dum tsch.
It's actualliy quite expensive - probably like any other room in Berlin. But it's always quiet, you don't have any other rooms around and the area is beautiful.
