    I'm 54 and my wife and I are VERY worried about our future, gas and food prices rising daily. We have had our savings dwindle with the cost of living into the stratosphere, and we are finding it impossible to replace them. We can get by, but can't seem to get ahead. My condolences to anyone retiring in this crisis, 30 years nonstop just for a crooked system to take all you worked for.

Recording music (€1500 per song! pay now! gigs ... maybe later); motorcycle deliveries (first, get another motorcycle); writing that script that I thought would be easy (first, ship to my new location all those chronicles where I'm taking the story from - €400 - do all the research properly if you wish to be credible...). I feel like we all stress over market dips, but just remember your market dip today is nothing compared to your market dip of tomorrow. This time it caused your net worth to drop a couple thousand. In a few years when your account has grown a ton itll drop tens of thousands. When you eventually become a millionaire, it may drop 100's of thousands.

    Great tips Rachel. Setting goals is very important. Another habit I find useful when managing money is creating systems to automate a lot of the work so you don't have to spend energy thinking about it. For example, pay yourself first and invest every paycheque. Or track your spending and dedicate some time at the end of every month to review it with a glass of wine so it's something you look forward to. 😀

    I am glad your back. I was worried about you too. My husband comes from a family Of seven kids and his arrests had similar issues. To this day he till ha s weird issues about money. Like he is a total hoarder and way over buys food be used she faced food insecurities. It used to drive me crazy. Like 16 boxes of cereal, 8 gallons of olive oil. He would bring home cases of tuna fish and I would donate 10 cans. It really took me years to connect that this has to do with the way he grew up. So now I return a lot, try to organize some of it and generally just try to live with it. I really do not think I will ever get this prepper hoarding out of him but at least I know where it comes from. So I can deal with it in a loving and gentle way versus screaming we can’t eat ten jars of peanut butter.

      @TeachersTalkMoney 2 года назад

      Yep, hoarding food is a big symptom of a scarcity mindset, the same way hoarding money can be! It takes a lot of work to unlearn behaviors that are caused by trauma. Thank you for being concerned about me-- I am completely OK, just hit a very busy patch with work. Happy to be back!
