I've a G7-2217cl that possibly needs it's bottom cover replaced. Left side will not close flush despite screw all in the way inside. Either hinge and or bottom cover broken inside. Better to buy new than buying 10 year old replacement part(s)?

Thank you a lot for this! I'm a noob at hardware and followed some of your steps for opening up my old 5732Z. The fan's grid was blocked with lots of dust and the thermal paste was almost dry (with holes!). I uploaded a video showing how bad it was: ruclips.net/video/ZdutPbL8AP0/видео.html and how I managed to bring it back to life! This was indeed a laptop's life saver :)
