The chorus is my absolute favorites
Isn’t it absolutely amazing. The chords are off the hook, but it’s also amazing how her melody glides effortlessly over the top of it and is “hooky” as hell!
That is one of the best pieces of advice.But do you still use a metronome to help you stay in rhythm just slow it down? Thanks for your help.
It depends. If I’m trying to build the speed of something challenging, I’ll find out what tempo they’re playing at (my target tempo…I us the TAP feature on my metronome for that) then I find out what my current tempo is (again using the metronome). Then, I play what I need to over and over until it’s perfect…THEN I add FOUR beats to my metronome (ie 60 times to 64). I do this until I reach the target tempo. It might take weeks or even months to get there but: 1) I can play it perfectly and 2) I never forget it! The metronome is my bestest buddy, and we even have an entire unit in our Masterclass dedicated to it. That’s how awesome of a tool it is!!

Singing and acting are so closely related. I’m a vocal coach and I spend so much time trying to teach students that singing is a full body experience. Your job is to entertain and your voice and vocal abilities are such a small part of that!

You mentioned the two most challenging early steps on the guitar…changing chords (especially “in time”) and barre chords. NO ONE who has EVER played guitar got away with not getting their butt kicked with those two skills. Keep it up!! 🤘🤘
