I was using localhost so put . in server name, used windows authentication (you can use SQLServer or other depending on what you are using), Then database where I had to import file. tested connection and then proceeded.

Use the DEV version, it seems Express does not work for importing.

If you are using SQL Server Developer edition and have installed Integration services correctly then the problem might be with connection string in destination (import export). In destination check if Server name and other credentials are correct and then test connection. Open SQL Server Import Export Data by searching in all apps instead of from SQL Server Management Studio itself. When I had same issue, I had installed Integration Services Manually (Download SQL Server installation file media and through that install Integration Services)and it worked. So try this as well.

Please tell me exactly what how you tried to import data (steps you followed and settings you have) so I can recreate the issue and check. Please ensure you are putting correct authorization details. (Database server, password, table etcetera)

Please try this step: While doing the connection part, click Advanced Properties -> Under security Trust server Certificate -> Set it to True. This should solve the issue for now. Kindly let me know the result if possible. Reference- github.com/microsoft/azuredatastudio/issues/11367

@@shubhamshrimant Hi, I followed the instructions from the beginning and changer the security trust certificate to true and when I attempt to connect to SQL in Azure, the error message is "Login failed for user sa". Could it be that the settings on my Macbook pro are off?

@@timmybee8512 is there any reason specified after the error? This seems authentication issue. Please restart the docker container and try again. @@timmybee8512 I don't know if you solved your problem, but I had the same issue. My solution was to look the MSSQL_SA_PASSWORD... I changed but I let the " <> " in... so It looked like this: MSSQL_SA_PASSWORD=<mypassword> (with the symbols included) I just put my password with that included and everything worked fine. So maybe you should look your password
