When was this please ?
2004 i think it was done as part of the D2D project - i was working on the other section of the project
Nice modelling there mate 👍
Bagus sekali teman❤❤❤❤❤❤❤👍👍👍👍👍🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏
All this cost to cut 20 minutes off a London to Birmingham train journey. It’s disgusting.
👍 great cruise 🍺🍷
We were on this cruise, so thank you for the memories. You looked to have a great time, as did we, though we were much lazier than you both were. I wish we were soon back onboard.
nice! Thanks for the memories of G402. Neat little clip of Spark.
HS2 is an environmental disaster of epic proportions & Britain's biggest infrastructure mistake in half a century.
No way! I was on that exact ship aswell!
Umpteen billions spent building the line coz a few business leaders convinced Boris hs2 was a great idea! We'll find out whether it was worth it within the first month of operation!
You pain in the arse cun73
I wish the video wasn't blurred :/
Congratulations David!!!
Hi we got the boat at 10.30, then pulpit rock at 11.25. The boat stopped for waffles and toilet break near lysefjord Bridge for 20mins at 12.30 and we were back in Stavanger for 13.25. This was part of a P&O trip hope this helps cheers David
I'm going in May this Year. Can you tell me how long the boat trip to Pulpit Rock and the Waterfall was?
An interesting channel you have here David. We'll be watching more of your travels and experiences that's certain.
The chain Bridge is an impressive structure. Quite understandable considering it was designed by an Englishmen and built by a Scot! 😁
Oh, some lovely images here David. It looks a really nice place to enjoy a day wandering around at any time of year.
Iona is a lovely and impressive ship and you've certainly got some great images of your time onboard and the places you visited.
Thanks we really enjoyed Iona, in fact I have another couple nearly ready for upload - we did the same cruise in 2023 interesting as it is the same places but we did totally different things - we also did the Canaries on Iona as well as spain and Portugal hopefully get these up in the next week or so - thanks David
Well that's the thing about cruises. You might call in at the same port but each time explore something different. First time we came into Naples, we did an excursion to Pompeii and saw nothing of Naples. A year later, spent the whole day in that fabulous city. Looking forward to seeing more of your cruises and travels David 👍@@davidmillar9595
bit ott ,is it not 6000 ton for a faffing bridge ,u can see why the north part has been cancel
Well in the South land prices are higher so it's going to cost more, they should have started from the North then the South bit would have been built whatever, but there is no North South divide, it just so happens that all the infrastructure is built in the South and nothing up North, it's most probably due to the Earth changing its polarity and they can't find North on the compass!?!
@@thomasherrin6798 Got to say Thomas Old Son that is a load of old cobblers about "all the infrastructure is built in the South and nothing up North" given the total lack of new infrastructure South of Birmingham apart from HS2 and EWR. Whereas 'the North' is having billions spent of Trans Pennine Upgrade and all the other rail schemes. The North will of course benefit from the new HS2 trains and HS2 services. East Anglia is 'the South' and we get the square root of s*d all.
Its a balance between digging up the WCML for 9 months while an underbridge is built or building this which, by its nature, will be heavier but only closes the WCML for a few days. Costs come in many ways.
Awesome work!! Great planning! Brilliant footage 🙂 Well done to all involved with this mammoth project 🙂 It seems a real shame that our current leader doesn't share the same passion and has finally turned a major, positive project into a waste of money that the narrow minded media has always said it was going to be!! 😞 We are being lead by a FaceBook driven sheep who WE, as a people, didn't vote in!!
Yes it costs a few bob, but over 100 years it's 1 billion a year which is 🥜!?!
Not sure I know the answer to why it was built - it can take horses hence the really high parapets and suspect this gives the biggest clue to why it was constructed. I remember the night it was lifted in we used a 1000t crane it was so foggy you couldn’t see from one side of the bridge to the other - I ended up landing the deck as my boss had to go back to Liverpool as his house had been broken it too - thanks for the comments hope you found the videos interesting all the bridges in that area are on the website dbmbridges2.com
I have used this bridge when on my mountain bike, but I'm not sure why it was every built. It isn't part of an existing route per se, I had to go out of my way to get on it.
3:12 is that where the old subway went down? You don’t have any pictures of that old subway do you? I vaguely remember it probably from around 1999 when I was about 4 and can’t find many pictures of it and where exactly the steps going down to it were.
Great video - thanks for sharing! It's fantastic to get an insight in the work taking place. The labels on the different days work help to get some context on what's involved. I really appreciate you taking the time to do this. Looking forward to using the infrastructure once it's ready!
Always loved your attention to detail Dave - really helped with seeing if complex plant / bridge part movements would actually work on site.
