Saying everybody can code because they can ask ChatGPT to do it for them is nonsense. That's like saying that everybody is a plumber because they can hire a plumber to do it for them, or that everybody is a chef because they can go to a restaurant. Asking somebody else to write code doesn't mean you can write code. Obviously. Why did you think this was a sensible thing to say?? ChatGPT is a very powerful learning aid but you need to be able to understand and apply what it gives you, and it's not infallible. Many times it has given me code that doesn't work, or which needs significant editing to fold into my wider project. If you don't actually know how to code then ChatGPT will only get you so far.

i get your point.. but we were always artists.. considering everything in software tech is just opinion and experience. take softwate tech jobs as an artist, have a passion for it. a painter takes a blank canvas and creates his art. we take a blank file and create our art..also not everything in tech is software, even designing chips is tech, it's a vast generalization..

Although what you point out is very accurate , its not possible for AI to replace programmers , Backend and Frontend can be automated using AI , but those frameworks need to crated , or lets say it uses automated git but there has to be someon to create git , point being complex softwares are not something AI can do , it only repetitive tasks ( as of now in near future it might become more rational in making such decisions )

Son, only AGI can replace programmers, and no you drastically overestimate claude's abilities; it cannot remotely write entire programs, it can barely put together reasonable working small toys. You're missing it, AGI is coming, and that replaces all jobs, programmers will be some of the last people still working as the jobs die.

While I think it’ll do more than the examples you gave, its so-called AI won’t be super generative and it won’t access all the data users have in 3rd party apps. Also, notice Apple didn’t demo anything about AI in their Notes app. No AI chat, content generation, and content integration in the Notes app. Its AI will be limited. It could grow over time, but Apple waited too long to start working on it, and it’s probably concerned that its wider user base is not ready for more advanced AI.
