Georgina et Étienne de Swarte se souviennent de la première visite du 16e Gyalwa Karmapa en France
Le 6 janvier 1975, le 16e Gyalwa Karmapa se rendit pour la première fois en France. À l’occasion du 50e anniversaire de cette visite, événement important dans l'histoire du bouddhisme en Occident, nous publions des textes et des vidéos avec des témoignages de personnes présentes à ce moment-là.
Georgina et Étienne de Swarte ont rédigé l’invitation officielle qui a permis la venue de Karmapa en France en 1975. Ils ont également contribué à l’organisation des événements avec le 16ᵉ Karmapa à Paris et ont beaucoup œuvré pour diffuser le bouddhisme en France.

August 14, 2024 was the 100th birthday of His Holiness the 16th Gyalwa Karmapa. As a tribute to him, here is a rare audio by his close disciple Sister Palmo (Freda Bedi), in which she describes his birth, illustrated with photos from the 16th Gyalwa Karmapa's years in Tibet.

Many blessings. I pray that Tibetan Bhuddism can become more widespread. I'm having some difficulty understanding the difference in all the titles, Trungpas, Karmapas, Dorje, Rinpoches. Is this a family line and the spiritual higher ups of them? I'm sure there is a lot going into this. A video explaining the titles would be excellent and appreciated though! Thanks for the video! 🙏
