There used to be an old Perkins in Harrison ohio that shut down in around 2012-2013, something like that then turned into Harrison Family Restaurant in Probably 2014 and then shut down in Around 2018 and Was Converted into a Mexican Restaurant in Around 2019 something like that. Then there was a Big Lots That shut down in i think 2020 due to covid and Never Reopened?

Man, they whitewashed that thing like it was the "Ghost of KFC". And then seeing that Colonel Sanders face on the door - very phantom-like. Should have saved this episode for Halloween. Awesome seeing Ellie in her first abandoned vid. Hope she features in a lot more. Teresa Cooper was called out! I hope she doesn't see this. Would love a food review of Mike's Chili and Gyros, by the way. My own memories of KFC are mostly limited to my days in college. We had a Popeye's on one end of the campus where I lived in the dorms, and a KFC on the other end. Whenever I'd get bored with Popeye's I'd drop by that lonely little KFC. It was there that I picked up a taste for strawberry soda with my fried chicken, which I'll still sometimes indulge in to this day.

Starting out the new with a cold new abandoned vid! This one looks like it must have shut down very recently. Sorry you're losing so many locations in your area. I recall when the same thing happened to the storied Texas cafeteria chain Luby's. Once a state institution, now they're pretty hard to find. Seeing the new construction across the street makes me wonder, though - of all the places you've covered on this series, how many are still abandoned? How many have had new businesses come along to take their place? If it's a new food joint, it might be fun to review. You could compare whether it's better now, or before it was abandoned.

Great hat tip to 2023. I did appreciate the addition of the retro-gaming content this past year. Made for a nice nostalgic break between abandoned-type content. Also, I really dig the room! Very cool Neo 80s-kid aesthetic. And also highlighting some personal gems and mementos from past videos. That was a nice touch. I can tell your Dad put a lot of thought into that. I know having a cool little room you could base out of while meditating on life or just chilling with friends was very important for him when he was growing up. Nice seeing Ellie at the end of the video. Sort of like a sneak peek. I'm guessing we're going to be seeing a lot more of her on the channel in 2024, naturally. True story: I once had my brother make me some homemade Airheads-flavor moonshine for your Dad and I to review on one of his visits. The review never happened, but I still have the jar. It is every bit as electric blue as that Warheads soda. What's it like? I don't know! I never broke the seal.

Sometimes I can't get down with Jones's funky flavors, but I'm intrigued by this one. And I second Toby's idea of a year end retrospective. Either way, I'm just glad to see you back and uploading again.

Awesome. Like Big Daddy, I too am glad you got in one more vid before year’s end. Though a final retrospective after Christmas would be good, too, maybe looking at what you’ve done and plans for the new year. Give the fans something to anticipate. Just a thought. Yeah, I remember telling your dad about the Hatch Chili Festival tie-ins at all the local grocery stores around here from mid to late summer. Just talking about it I can almost taste those awesome hatch chili burgers and sausages, the hatch queso and chips, and the roast peppers themselves, too. They go great with eggs, rice, onions, corn, all kinds of stuff. Definitely one of my favorite peppers, and they come in all heat levels. I’m kind of like you - I used to eat a lot of really spicy stuff at one time, but I’ve kind of mellowed since then. Maybe I’m losing my edge! Believe it or not, this is one item I *have* tried - not the Jones variety, but hatch soda, yes, and hatch beer, too. You’re too young for that, but I recall liking the taste of the beer more than the soda, ha. I have a question, though. Is this one you’d have with a snack, or sipping on its own? Sometimes with those weird flavors it’s hard to pair it with things. Great video as usual, King. I’ll go ahead and put in request for more of these reviews, some park reviews, and more gaming stuff, and as always, more abandoned stuff. Have fun and Merry Christmas!

The reason to end of Frisch's Hamilton location 40 years operation lease got expired.

In Texas, Luby's is/was the big cafeteria chain, but they closed down most of their locations over a decade ago. They're still around, but a lot harder to find. I remember Frisch's moving into the area to take advantage of the situation, and I think we may have tried it once, but I'm not quite sure. At any rate, I don't think they're around here anymore. Too bad!

Glad to see another abandoned drop. I really can't believe you're up to almost 100 now. You need to do something special for that 100th abandoned if you haven't reached it yet. Maybe make an "abandoned" playlist to put all those together. Sort of sad to see something both you and your dad shared from childhood. I never had a place like that, but we have seen several of our favorite family restaurants close or move away over the years. Covid lockdowns killed a few of them. When I was a kid we hardly ever ate out, but when we did it was usually at the Western Sizzler. I still remember that buffet and the Texas Longhorn bull on the sign out front. Good memories. I ate a lot of cheap steak and baked potatoes there over the years.

Props for playing these old games on the original hardware. If you like Double Dragon, see if you can get your hands on a copy of River City Ransom. It's like Double Dragon with role-playing elements, so you can buy weapons and new fighting skills. The skills in particular are awesome and really fun to use. Also, if/when you get your hands on a Sega Genesis, the Streets of Rage games are fantastic, and have some fire tracks! Keep the old school dream alive, kid!
